Yay- Kitty! Aw seeing you draw her makes me hate her a little less now- haha. I love MY kitty-- even if she has Elaine from Sienfeld hair. I specifically referenced her! haha. Wait'll you see the proto-version of my Kitty Remix-- I recently found from back in college over 10 years ago. Her hair will definitely give you a clue to the date of the drawing...
And thanks for fabulous-ing up this design! Seeing her by your hand really helps me remember what I can like about this character. We both lean toward a less bratty, Kitty, right? lol

Dude- I saw her in person once-- she is GORGEOUS! I was really taken aback. When I saw Kylie it was different cuz she didn't have her stage makeup on and she looked like a regualr person. But JLD was doing some sort of promo thing for Veep and she did have her TV makeup and I was completely stunned that a person could look like that- lol.
That's a good idea for Kitty- keeping her with the other teens. I get that she's a prodigy and all but having her interact with the adults all the time gives her this... "special" quality that I can't stand. They all bend over backwards for her. She definitely needs a demotion- lol. I get it though-- she's created a very specific role in the X-Men Universe and though others have filled that role over time, Kitty was the first. I just happened to get into the books when Kitty was in Excalibur and Jubilee filled the teen X-Man role. Jubilee was way more applicable to my generation so I imprinted on her. Old people can't stand Jubilee! It's so funny. But say anything mean about Kitty and they'll optic blast you to bits on the spot.

Really? I'm so jealous! I love her and think she's so funny. I've been meaning to watch Veep though… I have the first season on DVD. I got it for super cheap at Target.
Totally! Kitty is kind of like that prissy girl in class who think she's better than everyone else and who all of the teachers fawn all over. She's essentially the poster child for privileged white girls (AKA basic bitches). I could never quite get over the hissy fits she threw over Professor Xavier asking her to be part of the New Mutants and over Storm's punk makeover. I never quite understood why she looked down on the New Mutants, especially when her best friend was part of that group. The whole X-Babies thing? Such cunty behaviour.
Jubilee was the teen X-Man for me too. Still, I'm not overly convinced that it's ideal for there to be a token teen X-Man. The reason being that it's better to have a teen squad. But yeah… I find there are two camps. The Jubilee lovers and the Jubilee haters. I'm somewhere in the middle.

Young one idea I had a while back was utilizing both ideas- a junior X-squad who's members frequently rotate serving on an adult team. So like one month it's Anole, next month it's Surge, etc. This way I think you get the whole teen perspective on the adult team tradition but still keep the idea of junior squads intact.
Yunno Claremont doesn't even use the word Kitty anymore. It's always "My Katya." lol. He won't call her anything else!

That's kind of interesting, it's like an X-Intern. I feel like they kind of did that much later on, during all of the Utopia era.
He does? Weird...

It's very cute. I like the springy little pose as well.
