did you combine two different pictures and then simply changed the opacity levels or did you use the clone/selection tool and then use the content aware tool?

no, i started this from scratch painted manually and I used a few photo textures for details like the grass below. And also custom brushes is a big help it's speed up the process to create textures like the clouds.
