I liked both equally. They both had understandable reasons for what they did, really, both in the sequel and, in the case of Ariel, even the original film (I really get irritated at the badmouthing Ariel gets. Honestly, she already wanted to visit the surface anyways, well before Eric entered the picture, and besides which, she actually did have a reason to like Eric beyond looks or material wealth, namely his character. Not to mention she did a lot of good in the TV series. Not to mention not only did Ariel save Eric twice, three times if one counts the Vanessa incident, but one of those instances [the first, more specifically]Β was from something that wasn't even her fault in the first place, and none of them were directly her fault anyways, unlike Belle where the stuff she saved Beast from were stuff she was directly responsible for in the first place.).
And either way, I like Melody as well, she has potential. Shame her debut movie wasn't really good. If you think about it, she's like Gohan from Dragon Ball Z, sort of like how Ariel's like Goku from the same manga/anime.

I must say, that I grew up with loving the little mermaid. I have gone to Disney World every single year but 1 since 2003. I have always loved Ariel... then they came out with the movie where she had a daughter. I was in shock that she looked so much like me! hahaha. Her hair is just slightly darker than mine and I have brown eyes. I used to have eyebrows thick like hers... until i decided to pluck them to death. haha. Anyways... sorry to go reminiscing on your photo. Lovely job though. Probably one of my favorite versions of Melody

And yeah, she's definitely one of the better sequel characters. Shame the film she debuted in wasn't all that good though (on the plus side, at least it's much better than Ariel's Beginning, and the Special Edition did actually improve on it).

She's as much princess as Tiana is, and MORE than Mulan is, they just exclude her 'cause she ain't human(oid), therefore not pretty for girls or boys who like pretty girls.

Alright, good point and well taken. I'll withdraw my comment, as I made a mistake (and frankly, I'm not sure why they even included Mulan into the lineup anyway, same with Merida as she's not Disney, she's Pixar).

(Pixar is kind of Disney,) plus it's not that they're princesses at all, I think, it's just they're pretty girls who were the main focus in major Disney movies, but 'heroins' doesn't sound pretty enough, so they call 'em 'Princesses'. Even Kingdom Hearts kind of utilized that idea, since Alice and Kairi weren't royals. But WHY don't they include VANELLOPE, probly because videogames are for boys.
