It's as good as a 'Shepherd' [link] . He painted some even more like yours than that, but the images on offer were disappointingly small.

A photo is doing well if it can look as much like a famous painting as yours does. I sailed down the coast from Malindi in a small game fishing boat and was shown the house Shepherd was said to live in at that time [late 1960s...] I believe he spent quite a lot of time on the Kenyan plains around Tsavo and so on with a camera, and that some of the best paintings were worked up from photographs. I have a photo of a shop window display designed to replicate a Dutch old master which I fancy tries to do the same kind of thing: this [link] {sexton blake 'old master'] was taken of this [link] [ Fortnum & Mason's artful, three dimsension window dressing! ]
