Upon a whim I laid out some peanuts for the local scrub jays and put my camera close to the nuts and hit the record button. While it did take a few long minutes one bold jay came in and didn't seem to terribly bothered by the camera. While I'm happy I did get a recording of the jay coming for the bird food, it's sadly not a good one -when the jay comes in to grab the peanut, he's a tad out of focus. This is a still from that video which I will probably never upload.Related content

Birds are often tricky to photograph, even pet birds (I'm looking at you Pippin, Maui) but I'm sure you'll be able to get some nice bird photos.
