Description Sooo I've been playing flight rising recently, and this is one of my favourite dragons in my lair.Β
I tried to get some sort of depth of field going on in there so that lighter parts of the subject appear to be further away.
I don't know if that worked but eh, it's practise. I shall do better next time!

Hope you enjoy,
Fey

This is stunning, The light and color are just right. The green color is not just one shade and the dragons face is well done! The texture is the same through out the whole picture. The olnly thing o would change would be the frount are on the ground nect to the tree. Maybe by making the foot a litting more darker or shade it defferently? This is to make the arm a little more noticable and a little less hidden. But your art work is amazing and I can not wait to see more! Thank you for your art!

A wonderfully done piece by any means. The texture is amazingly detailed, very realistic, almost as if the forest has begun to grow from the dragon itself. My favorite part however is the fact that the setup of the scene reminds me of the old concept art from the 1933 King Kong: a dark foreground, a well-lit middle ground and a light background. It also is reminiscent of the work of artist Jan Sovak, predominantly in the way the brush strokes fall. All in all, a perfect blend of lighting, format and depth. As for the dragon itself, my favorite part of it is the horns and the mane, with the moss-like and bark-like textures in particular drawing attention down to the head. They really give the impression of it emerging from within the core of the forest. The scar on the eye was also a nice touch. It draws the viewer's eye to the dragon's own eye after the mane and horns lead down to the head. It's almost alive in the way the subject looks out at the viewer.

This is a gorgeous piece! The range of greens and the painterly textures really caught my eye. I personally love digital art that recreates the canvas textures e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>

The lighting is lovely and makes his body pop from the background (I especially like the little highlights on the wing/legs)
However I feel there should be a bit more light around his face/whiskers? I'm assuming the main light source is behind the dragon, meaning his face will be pretty dark with some rim light around his snout/mane?
Here are a couple of nice lighting guides:
www.deviantart.com/art/Light-a…
www.deviantart.com/art/Giant-S…

Other than that, your sense of lighting and shading is on-pointe and beautifully executed in this piece!
Originality is tricky, since this is a Flight Rising Dragon and not your own species design. Nonetheless, your composition is unique and eye-catching and makes for a great piece.
Wonderful job, I'm very glad to have found your work from browsing through critiquables (:

Thank you! I don't usually do these kind of paintings that are more focal with rougher textures and "unfinished" parts and interesting lighting so yeah, this was in fact (needed) practise that worked quite alright. I'm glad people like it!

Wow also das ist dir wirklich super gut gelungen! Atemberaubend. Weiter so!
