Ok that is interesting seeing as for my Tank engine Joseph or Joey (I know he shares my name but he isn't meant to be me as a locomotive) I chose to give him a purple livery. I only ever found one loco of the steam era that had worn a purple shade and that was very different from the shade I picked for Joey. Now I see this and it's very close to Joey's in shade even for a miniature that is quite awesome.

Indeed it is, yet I've never seen a steam locomotive in purple

I searched google with the name of this piece and found a couple American engines and one miniature engine that have purple but indeed your more likely to see blue before a purple or lavender it is very rare.

As an American, I know that 4-4-0's and early loco's as such were known for their beauty, and their somewhat odd liveries, but never before a purple paint scheme. What is this madness?!
