Wow, what a wonderful concept to such a great fable- and the execution of it is perfect!! I could see it becoming a stained glass pendant that you would hang by the window to catch the light. I would buy it!

This is BEAUTIFUL and inspiring to boot! I think I'm going to try to make this out of clay - I'll definitely send you a picture if it comes out resembling anything like this XD

Wow, thank you very much, I'm glad you like it! I'd love to see a clay version of this, let me know at once when you make one!
Maybe I should try and make one myself ^^

Wow, that's awesome! I've linked to it from the deviation page, hope you don't mind!
I'm really quite honoured you've made something so great based off my work, seriously!
It's beautiful!

I made it with plain ol' clay and water. When it got fired before and after glazing, some pieces broke off and, well, there's a fair amount of glue holding it together >_<

Though this would appear a simple piece to an untrained eye, as one who has tried knotting, this is incredible.
If your looking for suggestions, I'm a fan of The Man and the Satyr, The Eagle and the Arrow, and The Old Man and Death.

Thank you!
Pardon me for sounding ignorant, but what's knotting? As in.. uh Celtic Knots or...?
Okay, I haven't heard of those three yet, I'll definitely check them out and let you know if I decide to do one! Thanks for the pointer!

YOu don't sound ignorant. I've always considered knotting the weaving of lines, be it very geometric like yours, or the loose style that is more popluar.
Oh, do read them! They are very good!

Great flow again. This would look great in an oval frame. The stained glass look compliments the line style so well.

Actually I was thinking about trying to figure out a way to transfer this onto an oval plate, I thought that might look quite good. What do you think?
Thanks for commenting!

Now that would make an awesome cheese or hors d'oeuvres plate. I think that most sign shops or custom print shops would be able to get it on a plate for you, of course you'd need to do a digital version first so it will be sharp and clean.

saw this in the newest gallery , really liked the image and the colors . as others have noted this is very reminiscent of stained glass work . your own comments are what I would identify - the way you have the image flow and communicate as one whole , the way it wraps into the oval shape .
this is so surprising after looking at your gallery - like seeing you at the moment of some transition . kind of cool . such a clear next step from Fox and Crow down this road .
Aesop's fables are a great template to explore this way . Maybe the dog and the bone (not the real name of course - where the dog drops the bone he is carrying into the river to try to take the one he sees in his reflection) . not sure it's the most suitable , just the one I could remember as I type this .

Hi, I just found this comment from ages ago, and wanted to let you know, that I did indeed create a picture for the "Dog and his Shadow" as the fable is called I think.

Thanks for the great suggestion! It was a cool fable to explore in this style! I've also redone the pictures with backgrounds.

Thank you for such a great comment!
Interesting thought about the transition, this is way out of my usual style and I am trying to improve my work more than before, it would be great if this marked some kind of change for me. This isn't the only style I'll be drawing in from now on, but it's sure a fun change from my usual stuff. And I really feel that this is my own and not influenced by anything else.
I like the fable with the dog and the bone, don't think I've heard it before, don't know if it's suitable either, but worth a try. Definitely a nice story.
Maybe it would work as a symmetrical piece, I'll give it a shot.
There doesn't seem to be many Aesop's fables pieces on DA, I'm quite surprised.

Thank you very much. Yeah, I went way off with this style, I don't think it's influenced by anything, though it reminds me slightly of something I used to do a couple of years ago that I called "Scroobles" for some stupid reason, I'll have to post some.
I think it's more like it follows a set of subconcious rules in my head than that it's influenced by any other style. Some people have mentioned it reminds them of stained glass.
Glad you like it, and thank you for the fav.
