Description Inspired by *Holivi and *FruitbloodMilkashake .
Based on Auguste Rodin's "The Thinker" and Applejack thinking in "Apple Family Reunion".

Remember that poll I had recently? Trying to work on some things here. Can't say I'm very satisfied, but I guess it's going somewhere.

Do you prefer this style over what I usually do?
Feedback would be much appreciated.

Drawfriend Stuff 663, #24 . Wasn't expecting this to get on EQD. I'm glad she did, though.

On another note: almost finished a commission I've been working on for too long. Work on other commissions and requests/art trade should follow shortly after.

Don't overthink things, AJ. Fancy mathematics will just muddle the issue.

I'm imagining her sitting on a toilet taking a spectacular s t. I am a terrible and evil person. :C

It's a different feel yes, but I don't like your other works any less because of this. I like all your pics. They are like my childrens. If anything I think it's interesting to see you working with something new.

I like the expression on her face, to me it almost looks like she's sniffing her hoof like "What the hay is this.....". I don't mean that as a bad thing, love the picture, it just resonates differently with me.

i love the rough style, but the shading is a bit too heavy in my taste, but still a great piece!

Really cool, and I like this style quite a bit. My only advice at the moment is to have more variance in your shadow colors. All the blue shadows on her make the colors look really muddy in places. Of course sometimes that's okay when you are going for a specific feel. here it works really well because it is giving me an impression that she is either sad/upset or deep in thought (when paired with her expression of course). Especially because blue and orange are complementary colors, which when mixed make a grey color, or when blended too much could cause a horrible looking smudge of dull colors. Dull shading is not always attractive.

Other than that, I think this is really cool! After looking through your gallery and seeing improvement from the first upload up to this, I think congratulations are in order. Congrats! ^u^

That's some pretty useful feedback, thank you!
I suppose I should've added some reds to the shadow rather than sticking to blue?

Probably. Reds and darker oranges/browns would work well for Applejack. :3 Greys also look better shaded in slightly reddish tones, and it's usually a good idea to stay away from gray and black as shading colors unless needed. And you're very welcome, I'm happy to help any time.
