"Very good. You are now in posession of the Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device. With it, you can create your own portals. These intra-dimensional gates have proven to be completely safe. The device however, has not. Do not touch the operational end of the device. Do not look directly at the operational end of he device. Do not submerge the device in liquid, even partially. Most importantly, under no circumstances should you... *static*".This is MY version of the ASHPD, specifically from Portal 2 (which is why it looks dirty & used). Made out of PVC pipe, wood, Wireform and Durham Rockhard Putty. It does light up! There's a switch on the handle that changes the colors. It's not 100% accurate but I am very pleased with it. I only had the weekends of two months to work on it.

I wish I had the space to make more of these to sell but even with my "cheap-o" version, it'd probably cost the same as the kit that Valve sells now. But I'm glad you like it! It did take a lot of work

Absolutely beautiful! I envy your ability to mold the plastics to form the casing. The bits of red and dirt are great touches to show the wear and tear on the portal gun.

It was wireform wrapped in fabric and then coated with Durham's Rock Hard Water Putty. The putty made it pretty heavy but it was the best I could do with my time constraint.

I took pictures of my process that I will post after Halloween. I'll also pull the links for all the other tutorials I consulted so I guess that's close to doing my own!!! Just stay tuned, haha. It'll most likely be part of a Flickr album.
