"Muhammad my friend
It's time to tell the world
We both know it was a girl back in Bethlehem
And on that fateful day
When she was crucified
She wore Shiseido Red an dwe drank tea
By her side"
So sayeth Tori, so endeth the lesson.
This is a...brilliant shot. In my mind, flawless, every aspect is perfectly represented...the composition, the downcast face recalling the "everywoman" recalling the divinity in us all, and the nudity is simple, unaffected, without erotic implication, almost an afterthought, the way children will be naked, asexually. Perfect perfect perfect! I know I'm rambling but I'm just very appreciative of this piece. Such a wonderful job!

Woah, this is really pretty and very symbolic and deep. I like it very much.

One of the better "female Christ" takes I've seen! Do wish your face and body weren't quite so totally blown out, but I do like the "high key" effect of them.

I actually prefere that the details are missing: it's not MY face. Its much more anymous. Leaving it open for one to imagine the details that will make it meaningful to the viewer.
The blown outness is one of the things I think works best.
It's usually a technical flaw but I think it works well here.

I can see your point Sonia! Hadn't thought of it like that before. But perhaps that's because as part of even your "intimate audience", I would still see it as "generic woman" rather than specifically you. I wonder if the personalization you are looking to obliterate may apply only to you and perhaps your nearest and dearest regardless. Anyway, just conjecture here... Great picture regardless.

say this is really nice, and the mercy one as well ... a gentle eroticism, imo, really opens up new avenues to visualizing and thinking about spirituality .. and stuff. really well done.

I've actually had this prop put aside since October. The move had everything misplaced and scrambled. Glad it got moved to the top of the heap for this shoot. I'm pleased with the feel of them. I must admit I was inspired partly too by our conversation of a religious themed project. Ihope to buildmore on some imagry like this.
Thanks for faveing it. Love ya.

very deep; the thorns crown has such great symbolism; yet it works perfectly well here.
the photo appears to be slightly over-exposed; but that's just something that makes it even more surreal and meaningful.
