I HAVE RETURNED FROM MY LAIKA SUMMER. THE PEOPLE WERE ADORABLE. AND IT WAS PRETTY SWELL.

I worked on their fourth and fifth films!! The film after Box Trolls and the film after that film... It was great to see how actual production works and meet all these cool adorable peeps.
EDIT: Well, since the trailer's out, I can say it now haha- I did a little bit of concept art for "Kubo" during my time at Laika!
Also, the PUPPETS and the SETS... HONESTLY SERIOUSLY SO FREAKING AMAZING... THESE PEOPLE... I WAS MIND-BLOWN FOREVER.Β
you guys have something completely amazing in store... for the next 8 years or so... LOL
well, now back to school... one year left! before I am set loose upon the world! I will probably cook many burned things and catch many objects on fire.

does this picture look too dark on your monitor? WHY ARE ALL MONITORS DIFFERENT. Monitors need to stop being so difficult and monitor...cist. Monitorist? Sigh.

I'm a colorist, my job is to color-grade films, commercials, music videos, etc. The biggest frustration in my medium is that all monitors and screens are different. It will never look as good as it could. Β Every screen has a bias, so you want to use a zero-low bias screen for the creation of your work, that way you know when people view it, only 1 layer of bias/shift will be present. Β So annoying, but its a reality. Β Consumers want cheap, companies make crappy screens for the masses.
