Description
READ FROM LEFT TO RIGHTExplanation: The Captain turns into mist and avoids the blades again. But, considering the wounds inflicted by the magic attacks take longer than usual to heal, it took him longer than usual to reform. He then tries to crush Incognito from above. Incognito, seeing the Captain reform in the air, saw this coming and avoided it. Then, Incognito makes the mistake of becoming too blood thirsty, and charges at the Captain. Considering the Captain's superior reflexes in hand to hand combat, he stopped Incognito before he could grab him.

Seems the Captain does have the upper hand in terms of speed. And with his mist changing, he's damn near untouchable. No wonder he lasted so long in the canon storyline. XD Making good use of his abilities bro. ;3

Does this finally prove Incognito's appearance was a worthy end to the original anime? Considering the fight he gave /Alucard/ I've always thought so. Sure, he's the strangest villain we know, but he's supposed to be from "the Dark Continent", aka, place of mystery, so it does make sense. And with only three volumes of manga to work with, I'd say not bad.

If you take a look at it, the TV series producers had two options at that point. They were making one episode a week, while Hirano was making one chapter every month. One chapter has enough material for one episode. They could either make filler. Lots and lots of filler, while they wait for the next chapter. Or they could create their own scenario and end the series differently. Personally, I think they made the right choice. This way we have two versions of Hellsing.
As for Incognito, I said it once and I'll say it again. All the guy needed to become less hated was a pair of pants and some backstory. Even a simple one.

Considering the flack other anime series have gotten for filler, you've a good point on two versions being the better way to go. Especially considering it took Hirano a year and a half between each of the last several volumes! It would have diminished the awesomeness of the core characters to have had so much filler rather than a tense, dramatic finish.
I do yet find it sad, though, that a second season of sorts wasn't made. They had time and the series was popular, plus with episode 13 being such a cliff-hanger they sure had motive!

Agreed about the filler. It would have been 3 episodes of filler, then one episode of the actual plot. Then another 3 episodes of filler, and one episode of plot. It would have been very annoying. -_-
Yes, I heard about that. The TV series was a huge success. Still, I don't grieve so much about there not being a second season. What upsets me is that the anime only characters never got any background explained. I would really love to learn more about Helena's past. Also, some of Fargason's exploits when he was a younger soldier. And, as you may have already noticed from my gallery, the relationship between Incognito and Laura. She was the only member of his team who was with him from the start. Were they just allies? Or something more? How did they meet? It really would have been nice to know.

Incognito's human masters were probably there as well. But considering we never saw or heard them, it's strongly implied Incognito himself did most of the work.
