Stalin, sadly, killed more Russians than any Allied or Axis force combined. Enemy at the Gates is pretty freakin' awesome at showing their own brutality towards their own. They're a very very hardy people and I admire them so much... they've been through so much!
There's a stop-motion animation of 'war' done by a Russian that's interesting... I'll have to find it and send it your way.
One of my favorite horror movies is called 'The Abandoned', that's set in way out there Russia. There's more, but my brain isn't thinking at the moment lol
