Just a quickie stamp
.Point value is a rounded up approximation.
Try to keep that in mind when trying to commission someone for next to no points <3
(note : no I do not take point commissions )

For clarification, I feel I should mention that since the introduction of downloadable content and the commission widget, the price of points comes out to exactly 1:1 due to the fee.
So 100 points = $1 USD

But that's only if you use the commission & downloadable content-features. The value of a point doesn't change, only the amount the artist will get. And besides, you can always tell your commissioners pay through the donation-widget, that way there is no fee.

I think point worth has changed since I made this (its old..almost 2 years) as I recall doing the math on at least something haha. At the time I think things like the commission widget and the premium content downloads werent implemented yet.Β Looking currently I can buy 400 points for $5, that's 1 point = 1.25 cents to purchase them.Β To convert acquired points through premium content downloads it looks like you're right if taken out as money it is 1 to 1. If I wanted to convert my 'profits' or whatever back in to points though I then lose out on a chunk as it goes back to 1.25 cents per point.
So..
person 1:
400 points payed for (-$5)
400 point commission or content payed for to person 2 (-400 points)
person 2 :
receives profit (+400 points)
two outcomes now
-convert profit to $ (+$5)
or
-convert profit to points to pay for commission or content (+320 points)
So the system is a little different now that you can actually convert points -back- in to money
Either way though this stamp was more about appreciating the fact that they're just not worth much on an individual basis. Pennies in a jar are still pennies and not dollars.

um... but if 1 point turns into money it makes 1 cent via premium download... and if it's via commission widget, 1 point is only 0,8 of a cent... so not even a cent... it's never 2cents... so your stamo lies...

lots of things! You can buy premium memberships for yourself or a friend. You can upgrade a group to a super group. You can commission people or buy resources from them. You can even buy real life t-shirts and gear with them from DAs shop.

no problem! ^^ points can be fun you just have to keep in mind that although the numbers may seem high sometimes, once exchanged to real world currency the worth of each individual point is very small. It's sad to me to see people complain when an artist tries to do commissions for points and they supposedly 'charge too much' , even though again the point value to real money value is low. I've seen people do commissions that take them 2-3 hours or more for less than 100 points
