Aerith (Aeris!) was always an ambivalent character to me. The first time I played through Final Fantasy VII, I liked Tifa a lot more because Tifa was a lot more like me. (And in FF games I never seem to use magic-oriented characters as much). Over the years Aerith has attained some strange ghost status. In a way she almost kind of reminds me of a really good friend of mine who died suddenly a year or two after I graduated high school. I didn't really keep that great track of her because it wasn't that convenient at the time and I always assumed that I would get to know her better later.
I dunno. I'm devolving into rambling.
