Great pic,I always liked Sandy best as Sand,he was one of the JSA's cooler heroes next to a few others I like in there, like Starman(Jack Knight)and Atom Smasher.

However,I was pretty disappointed when they turned him into Sandman in the last actual JSA series, but to me Sandy will always be Sand, and I hope they bring him back someday.

The coloring is very nice especially his body! I really like the inking and coloring. His costume is such a unique one and you don't see him done as a fan piece much! His arms are a little pinned back a bit, with the angle it seems like his arms should be out more. its a very good piece though, I really like how you did the mask.

Thanks for the comments! Sand rocks! No pun intended. There should be more fan art of him around.

Your very welcome! Oh I completely agree, hehehe. Nice. I would love to see more of him. I also enjoy the classic 30's/40's version.

Taking away how ackward he looks... The hottest guy in the JSA!!! YOINK!! If you want, I can tell you why I feel this is ackward, but he has some nice strong colours there and the angle is interesting. No need to show his abilities in this- his mask speaks volumes about who he is He is a VERY cool Sandman this one Oh blah- I'm going all funny with Sandman fangirlage *dies*

Ah- cool. You didn't label advance crit so I thouhgt I'd ask first ^^

Starting from the top to the bottom:-
Head- Head is cool, Can't tell if its off with the mask on, but it seems ok from here
Shoulder area- The straps over his shoulders should push off to the sides more with the angle his chest flexs- unless it had a strap in between them to keep them off his shoulders (back packs have these- they're VERY handy for weak shouldered women like me!!) They also don't look tight cause they twist inwards. His neck- it may just be your style, but it looks a little too thick. That one is upto you thouhg. It looks ok- maybe a little too Hulky. I always imagined Sandman as a strong athletic type- muscles, but lots of flexability. Not bulk strength.
Arms- The first of the two big fall down points. His guns points out sidewys look like he's playing around with them weirdly, and that he doesn't know how to coordinate them. I think what you were trying for was elbows back, and guns by his sides, although I don't know what that would accomplish for him. My suggestion is pretend you're doing this pose, and see if you feel like a hero- keep changing the pose till it feels right. If you feel like a dork doing the pose, he wont look any beter- so if that sounds harsh, there is no nicer why of puting it. Also- think about why he's doing the pose he is doing- this'll give nmore of a belief that he is in the middle of combat. For example- [link] In this, Gambit has his hands like that so that he can use his arms strength to twist his torso around for more balance and impact. They're also there ready incase he needs to punch immediatly after the kick (Doom to Marvel!! *casts doomyness*), and [link] (I didn't origanally draw this BTW), the guy has his gun postiioned as if he's going to shot someone. It gives more impact to an action scene. This applies to the WHOLE body. This is where Dynamic angles come in, which is still a weak spot for me.
legs- the legs, the same applies- he's bouncing in an odd way- if you jump, you have your knee bend when on the ground, and pointed as you take off into the air. That and his left leg is totally dislocated. It shouls sit behind the leg further. [link] This picture shows kind of what I mean, even if its a different pose.

I hope this all helps you ^^

No problem ^^ I just wish that people had helped me out when I was learning. I never had DA when I was learning. My skill comes from hard studying, and trial/error REALLY inefficent
