The second piece of my concentration! Ooooh my gosh. This was frustrating to make, but the reactions on everyone's faces...soooo priceless.
I have an independent study class with the little Art One kids, and they're total virgins to the macabre scene. They were SO grossed out. IT'S ADORABLE.This is basically a representation of how people hide sadness within, but once you pull of the flimsy mask, you can really see what someone is made of. Something like that.

What scarys me about this isn't the pulling of the face or the bone underneath but the circles. Circles seems to scary me, like small pox or really ornate carvings....But perhaps it the idea if trying to hid your sorrow that is really scary. When you don't want to lose the control of how others see you....hmm.

Oooh, wow, I haven't really though about the circles like that. Originally, I tried to make it look like a cross between skin-colored bubblegum and goop. Sounds gross, now that I mention it. I can see why it's scary. :I
