Kai watched Katara stealthily climb some rocks that formed the outskirts of a mountain-range. She kept to the right side of the wind to make sure the bear would not smell her. Suddenly the bear startled and Katara froze in her tracks. However, it had not been Katara the bear had noticed. Kai swallowed nervously as the bear looked straight at him.

Minutes past by and Kai didn't dare move a muscle - if the bear attacked him now, his only saving grace would be Katara. His heart seemed to be doing a jive in his throat and he only wished it wouldn’t beat quite so loud – anything to keep the bear calm and above all, uninterested in him.

Finally the bear decided he wasn't a threat and lumbered onwards. Heart still hammering in his throat, Kai crouched down and notched an arrow on his bow. If the bear decided to attack him now at least he'd have his protection at hand.

Meanwhile Katara was crouched low - frozen in place - waiting for the bear to lumber into view. Every muscle on her body was tensed and her hind legs already in prime position for optimum thrust. The bear wouldn't know what hit it.

Katara's first rite done
I still struggle with rocks/rocky surfaces and I'm only partially satisfied with how the snowy rock looks - but after fiddling with it for ages, I figured this is as good as it's going to get for this image.... My second pieve about this image is the clouds (another thing I ALWAYS struggle with)...
On the other hand; I do really like how Katara looks and Kai doesn't look half-bad either
