Drew Macfadyen!Darcy tonight while I re-watched Pride and Prejudice to destress. This is probably one of the first times I've seriously tried to draw a legit portrait on photoshop using a reference (I'm usually too lazy to use references--which is why most of the Inception characters are kinda off). Since I had to pause the screen, I didn't have too long to draw this but it did take me a good 60+ minutes. This was good practice and I definitely will try more of these in the near future. Used a 10pt brush at mainly 70% opacity.More Pride and Prejudice doodles from tonight here if you're so inclined. c:

I just finished the book for the first time recently. I mean, I've seen the old series and the newer movie, but I'd never actually read the book. He's much more swoon-worthy in the book.
He also looks very swoon-worthy here. Awesome job!

the title is my favourite line in the film, immediately drew me to this piece! I think this is really good - quite lifelike. I particularly like the lighting, the way that most of his face is in a kind of shadow, it really captures his personality.

great!speed painting with reference is really good to improve espacialy with volume of the face(i don't say that you need to improve that much you're very talented but it' may hepls to change the way of the light slide on face and tries differents thing! sorry poor english!hope you understand my idea)

I love the title and I like the way you achieved a very traditional paint look for his portrait. If his hair at the top was cropped down a bit, I think that would make the realism even better.

I'd happily inhabit the miserable half of Derbyshire and snark about all the stupid people we have to content with for teh rest of our mortal lives with him. But then, where would my best friend Lizzie be?
Something about the semi-rough way you layered shades and colours here is hugely enjoyable to me. I shall gaze some more. (Brilliant choice of a title, btw).
