Been meaning to post this for a while. Here's how Papyrus's armor is layered in the comic.I wonder how many straps there are.

Yeah, layers were basically the rule of thumb when it came to armor back in the day. The more layers, the more things between a sword and your body.

Hehe thanks, I did a LOT of research on how armor actually was worn back when it was used. You see all the fantasy armor with spikes and dragon jaws and capes and crap and it just wouldn't work to use in reality. I can't draw something if I know it doesn't make sense, so that's why I made this

Yeah, I understand where you're coming from. Some things are much better to draw realistically rather than just drawn in a way that looks okay, but doesn't make sense in reality. That's one of the reasons why I find it difficult to draw armor. I try to make it look like it actually serves the purpose of protecting the person who's wearing it, but it's really hard to draw because of how complicated armor can be. It always looks like it wouldn't be easy to move around in, and the character always ends up looking fat because the silhouette changesΒ for that character, making them look bigger than they actually are. -_-
You know what, I'm just gonna add it to my favorites so I can use it as a reference for when I draw armor. Not Papyrus' armor specifically, just armor in general, because this is actually a really good reference!
