Love the composition, the clouds look quite weird, but the rest of the shot is great, the monochrome colour and tone is quite good, GREAT composition, fab work madam.

Great composition and what a subject..I love how the bridge rises over the buildings at the back, it looks so dramatic against the clouds
The guy with the bike adds this wonderous touch to it

This is one of the greatest things I've seen from you so far

(don't mind if I fave this )

Ooh, and I'm listening to Tim Buckley - Song To The Siren now

fluxuspoem In reply to TheRedKing [2004-10-13 21:22:55 +0000 UTC]

is it too 60s for you? can you hear the similarity between Tim and Jeff (like father like son they said)

Elisabeth Fraser from Cocteau Twins and This mortal coil was greatly inspired by Tim Buckley and dated Jeff Buckley...

She has a wonderful voice but I think that this version has its beauty as well

What do you think?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheRedKing In reply to fluxuspoem [2004-10-13 21:35:22 +0000 UTC]

It doesn't really sound 60s at all to me
It has a haunting undertone as well, though not as much as the This Mortal Coil version
I hear the similarity, though I love Jeff's softer voice better
I still like her version better, but this is very nice as well

I didn't know she dated him,lol

fluxuspoem In reply to TheRedKing [2004-10-13 21:38:54 +0000 UTC]

Definatelly I prefer the version you mentioned but I heard this awesome one couple of days ago from a band called "Czars" as I mentioned before. Excellent version, I think it won over "This mortal coil" despite the fact that I am inlove with her voice...

Yes, she dated him for a while, she even speaks about him on documentaries, when I found out I freaked, I thought, the two most loved voices ever, were couple??? how strange!!!

really happy that you share similar music taste, so easy and nice to talk about music.

I still have to download that..I wrote it down somewhere since you mentioned it last week
My connection has been slow these past days cause I already downloaded too much thouh
I will try to get it as soon as possible though

Hehe, love works in strange ways

It's one of my favorite things, I listen to music most of the day
(usually 8 hours of radio at work though, not really my cup of tea)

TheRedKing In reply to fluxuspoem [2004-10-13 21:19:42 +0000 UTC]

I'm glad for that

I think you really outdid yourself with this, I've seen pics in exhibits that don't come near yours
You should get this as a print, I'm sure it would sell

fluxuspoem In reply to TheRedKing [2004-10-13 21:28:06 +0000 UTC]

nooo you are going to make my head BIG!lol dont say things like that!!!

I do appreciate it a lot, I really like your gallery and I understand that we have similar taste so it trully is very important for me that you like them.

Funny you should say about the print account, I thought about it earlier while I was updating my subscription... but then i had second thoughts and left it for now... maybe in the future, just for a laugh I might do, at the end of the day even if I dont sell a thing it only costs something like £20.00 for life.

What about you? no print account why?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheRedKing In reply to fluxuspoem [2004-10-13 21:42:52 +0000 UTC]

Your head should be big, cause that pic is awesome

Thanks, I'm glad you like it
I agree that our tastes are very similar, even beyond photography

You should do it, I'm sure you'd make money

I don't have a print account cause i'm still improving, I think..
And I'm always waiting to get one cause I need to get another lense, or some other thing that is gonna improve my pics so much..
I'm so full of doubts, lol

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

fluxuspoem In reply to TheRedKing [2004-10-13 21:47:45 +0000 UTC]

and then you are telling me not to be doubtfull lol! I think your gallery is fantastic as it is my friend, but I understand what you mean when you talk about doubts cause I am the same

Hey lets be brave for once... lol what about January, should we both get print accounts? this way if it goes tits up, we will both be on the same boat! lol lol

TheRedKing In reply to fluxuspoem [2004-10-13 22:17:23 +0000 UTC]

I'm always supportive of my friends
I'm my own worst critic though

But truly, your pics are better then mine

Hmm, I'd have a new lense by then
I ordered a 80-400 mm zoom lense saturday
It would be great to get one at the same time as you, I wouldn't doubt that much then , I guess
But you'd still sell more pics

You've perfected the use of 'lines' in this picture. Love the tone to it, and as ever, with your photography, I can always relate to them. The sense of London is always there in more ways than one. You capture it effectively. I love the walk down that path

A good walk we've done has been to start at the London Eye and walk down the bank past the national film theatre along Queen's Walk past the OXO tower, past Blackfriars bridge to the Globe Theatre and the Tate Modern, cross over and walk back up towards Millbank along the river - either all the way up to the Houses of Parliament, or as far as the Golden Jubilee Bridge, passing Temple, the Savoy and Cleopatra's Needle and back across to the Royal Festival Hall and the cafeteria at the old City Hall (but not the McDonalds) - or if we're lazy, diving into Embankment tube and back down the district line to Hammersmith and change to the Picadilly back to good old smoggy Hounslow

fluxuspoem In reply to ludd1te [2004-10-12 23:57:29 +0000 UTC]

..oh yes Hounslow, and "boom" straight dive to reality! lol you are a fellow neighbour?? lucky us that live in this "paradise"lol lol
