I've been dying to draw her for awhile now since I've seen so many amazing artists drawing their version of her. She was a ton of fun to draw!I wanted to include the Dynamax pokeball since I thought it looked really cool lol.

Great work on her! I'm not a Pokemon fan but I loooove her design! I think it's because I have many characters that have a similar look including my Hazbin Hotel character Thel.

Idk why I am not feeling the hype of this character? All we know is that she is gym leader that focus on water types.... I sure its because of her design.... is it mean saying this? That's how I feel about her....everyone is only going crazy because of her design... I didn't a lot of hype for the grass gym leader XD JUST SAYING.Β
Also when I saw her she looked very similar to Marlon.... with a little extra detail and quite similar. Both have more "revealing" designs, both have a darker skin, blue hair and eyes and both are water gym leaders.... I do hope her personality compares to all the similarities she has with Marlon....
Sadly I know that me sharing my opinion will get a bunch of people hating me because of insulting their pretty wifu which doesn't have any personality what so ever (at least not for now)....
ALSO knowing her design (even if she had a more covered body) she will join the sexualised ladies from the fandom which will make me sad....T-T

I don't think anyone is looking into it that deep, people just liked her design is all. Can't blame people for enjoying something. ^_^ Sure tons of people are sexualizing her as expected, but others online are just happy about more representation in PokΓ©mon. on DA you're bound to only see the dark side of things (it's a creepy place lol).

IDK I just have this thing about seeing new female characters and everyone drooling over them which to me is so iffy...and kind kills all the joy I might had on the character. I do understand that Pokemon always had a very "stereotypical" type of characters mostly white and some asian characters. My issue isn't her being a dark skin girl, after all I ADORE Oliva and her sassy self, my issue is that when I first saw her I got immediately reminded of Marlon. To be fair I would why a lot of people wouldn't notice that as a lot of people hate Gen 5...
I guess I avoided the internet with Sun and Moon spoilers (as I only watched a playthrought because I just like that kind of stuff)and that was all I saw of Olivia, I didn't researched her on google or DA because I knew she would be rule 34 bait....which I hate when the internet does this with female characters. I just hate how they are so objectified its just me thought. After the game comes out I might start loving her as well....

Well, I agree when it comes to a movie and all the male characters are fleshed out and the girls are just thrown in as the generic female hot sidekick, then yeah. but people enjoying a character because they find her pretty doesn't bother me at all. even if they enjoyed those older characters they most likely would have chosen one they thought was pretty and ignored any actual character development lol, the internet does that a lot (Overwatch). there's really no harm in it unless they actually view women as somehow lesser and only good for being sexualized. the majority of people enjoying this character are actually female themselves. I see girls drooling over actual guys from kpop groups and listening to them just because they find them attractive, so I think that's more serious than an animated character getting attention for her design. I'm more annoyed by video games making every female a model in a bikini while the guys can look like normal people lol.

Well yeah. Funny you mention that I watched recently a video about that topic (the typical female image) where this company would pick out vloggers (all teen girls, which is fine I guess) and it was about them going on vacations, take pictures and yeah... the thing was only the white "skinny" girls got their picutres taken while the darker girls where basically there.... they talked about how the camera people ignored them and just addressed them as the "black girls" which to me its disgusting. I hate how the industry portraits this type of perfect girl... being white, skinny whatever. I do know that the Pokemon industry ISN'T one to make a lot of darker skinned characters, I just hate how she just arrived and she went straight to the rule 34.... IDK she was just objectified and I hated that. I guess her design is cool and pretty I won't deny it. I just think she was kind of overhyped, as we don't know much about her. I have heard people call her wifu...like we know nothing about her. Like for now she is just a flat design.... she is pretty and looks cool buts that's it. Like I said before I might even love her once we meet her character but people are just overhyping her... she might not even be relevant in game, which I guess would be sad as she is being very hyped.Β
