Description Deviant Art needs to clear up a few issues with the new categories. . . .it's really screwing me up. . .

I was watching my brother play Heroes of Might and Magic 3, and he was the Inferno town. He managed to find the Grail and brought it to his town. The Grail adds 5000 gold to the income, increases creature growth rate by 50%, and does a special effect for each town. The Inferno grail makes every week thereafter the "Week of the Imp", which increases the already high growth of Imps and their upgraded forms Farmiliars by 15. I commented "You're gonna have those things all over the place!" And thus, I decided to do a wallpaper, 1024x768.

Several thanks to a few guys at the Heroes Community forums for supplying the images: lord_crusader and guitar guy.

God... those things are pretty fun, and combined wth pit lords - unstopable! But I am pretty sure Death Ripping would even the playing field...

Lots of Horned Demons swarming the field, that's for sure.

Why did they created destroy undead spell and not something to kill demons? >_>

Weird, isn't it? But since the Kreegans were like aliens, in a sense, they probably didn't have a good spell to counter them.

I think that's what the demonic Inferno race is called: Kreegans. Except maybe for a few humans who came to their service.

The Might and Magic titles that New World Computing developed always had some form of sci-fi elements to them. This was almost integrated into Heroes III by the Forge town in the Armageddon's Blade expansion, but negative fan criticism canceled that. The Heroes games never had sci-fi elements in them compared to the others.

Well me being an idiot on not looking at the originals, is quiet bothersome (although I know about the Sci-Fi part). The problem I see is what fans would rather have some zombie-cyborgs on the maximum. I'd myself would want to see a few guys from my drawing kicking dragon's ass and chewing unappropriet ammoutns of gum. Then again there would be balance problems and the magic... but screw that, conflux us a town of epic boredom.

The Conflux really got mixed reactions, didn't it? The Grail structure was just murder, and when combined with the magic school. . .That was nuts.

gufu1992 In reply to Fofa [2008-02-02 01:02:26 +0000 UTC]

What was it's grail structure anyway? I don't like conflux as it's too expensive, and just plain ol' boring.

The Aurora Borelias: gives the town's Mage Guild ALL of the game's spells. Unfair, isn't it?

Mostly against undead and all... but Imho, just send out enough protected creatures or kill them with sharpshooters quickly enough.

Most of the Conflux army is immune to Armageddon, meaning that the Dungeon wouldn't be the only folks to pull off the Armageddon trick.

Once they become Scorpicores, they become pretty annoying. Bring in a few evil eyes, and you've got a great mix. The minatour kings are pretty usefull as ranged meatshield though, just like the orcs.

gufu1992 In reply to gufu1992 [2008-02-06 21:39:37 +0000 UTC]

I am pretty sure what it wouldn't be more than just a major annoyance to the enemy - not more. Especially with almost every castle having "Cure" as a first-second level of magic guild spells.

Fofa In reply to gufu1992 [2008-02-05 02:42:10 +0000 UTC]

I know: I hate it when the Scorpicore's venom takes effect. . . Although that's not really different than the Medusa's stone gaze.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

gufu1992 In reply to Fofa [2008-02-05 02:50:32 +0000 UTC]

Stone gaze is harder to use due to Medusas being AWFULLY slow! Main positive side of a cstle is a large ammount of ranged units.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Fofa In reply to gufu1992 [2008-02-06 05:33:48 +0000 UTC]

That and the stone gaze doesn't apply to ranged attacks. That might be broken, wouldn't it?

gufu1992 In reply to Fofa [2008-02-06 21:46:26 +0000 UTC]

Meh, would just be an annoyance (did this thing doubled the message or something BTW)

Fofa In reply to gufu1992 [2008-02-07 03:33:29 +0000 UTC]

Oh yes, yes it would. . . .The Dungeon is already powerful enough with the Dragons. . .(and no, I don't see any doubled message, BTW)

gufu1992 In reply to Fofa [2008-02-07 04:16:43 +0000 UTC]

I found those dragons to be weaker than Castle/Inferno top tier creatures. They are harmed too easily by ranged units.

Angels and Archangels are just too strong. They were eventually given gems in their cost, but that's not exactly helping. Reducing their stats a bit might have.

All what should've happened is a speed reduction, that all...

gufu1992 In reply to gufu1992 [2008-02-09 18:21:07 +0000 UTC]

Yup, manual says 21 Hexes - fastest creature in the game. How phoenixes resssurect BTW?

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

Fofa In reply to gufu1992 [2008-02-09 06:46:08 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, but at least the Phoenix is the fastest thing in the game: and rightfully so, since Heroes II (in Heroes I, there were only three speed rating: slow, medium, and fast).

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

gufu1992 In reply to Fofa [2008-02-09 20:25:45 +0000 UTC]

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Fofa In reply to gufu1992 [2008-02-09 22:12:03 +0000 UTC]

No, it isn't. Not many creatures can even get close matching that.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

gufu1992 In reply to Fofa [2008-02-10 00:40:56 +0000 UTC]

I acknowledge what IT IS the fastest creature in-game. It's also pretty cheap. I don't think it's very powerfull though.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Fofa In reply to gufu1992 [2008-02-10 06:05:26 +0000 UTC]

No, but the speed helps compensate, as it allows you the first spell to be cast. ^^ 'Course, there are times when you might want to let your opponent cast first. . .

Hmm. . .I wonder if Phoenixes can be hasted. . .it would be insane though. oO

gufu1992 In reply to Fofa [2008-02-10 06:41:28 +0000 UTC]

What would be the point? You might as welll cast some bloodlust on it (Though, I don't know if it denies friendly fire spells as well). But netherless, even though they get the first attack - it won't really help them as the enemy retailiates.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Fofa In reply to gufu1992 [2008-02-10 23:11:27 +0000 UTC]

Well, if it denies Armageddon, then Bloodlust would probably have no effect either. . . I'd have to check that.

Eh, true. Also Magic Arrow if it qualifies in other magic schools like water (and probably spell that crosses into the other schools. It's odd).

gufu1992 In reply to Fofa [2008-02-12 00:38:08 +0000 UTC]

The manual says it is so... perhaps it can be blocked by all blocks?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Fofa In reply to gufu1992 [2008-02-12 05:31:28 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it gets blocked by immunities. Not that Magic Arrow is really strong anyway.

gufu1992 In reply to Fofa [2008-02-12 19:42:58 +0000 UTC]

Yup, it is somewhat useless... maybe as something to waste a few last mana points.

P.S. This must be the largest discussion on DeviantArt for a game!

Only a Warlock and lots of spell power increasing artifacts could make it decent.

I've been thinking of making a Heroes of Might and Magic club here, but I don't think we'd have many members. . .

Course, the expansion was done in a lot of respects when the Forge and it's contents were removed, so the Conflux was quickly put together. Which would probably explain some of the imbalances. . .

gufu1992 In reply to Fofa [2008-02-17 18:03:25 +0000 UTC]

Not to say what all of the Conflux creatures are completely unoriginal (Well... most of them if not all, existed in the game alredy). So therfore, they killed one of the most original towns.
