Description Just a small update again. This time the pauldrons are assembled to the chest piece
Hope the helmet isn't to big… Or I need to do a much smaller one.

From the screenshots I found of the armour (which I presume to be the Dragonknight veteran one), it does appear the helmet is a little bit larger than normally would be the case.

However, I do feel that the proportions of the one you're making feel more natural and like actual armour instead of some odd form of facemask. The freedom of 3D isn't always perfectly applicable on real objects, so I'd say the helmet appears to be perfectly fine.

It is the dragonknight AND templar veteran armor(the colors are just different afaik).
I had the feeling it was too big. See my newest upload, it's a picture with me in the armor and the helmet.

But I also noticed that the helmet ingame… like replaces the head(if you know what I mean).
The helmet is as big as the head, so in reality this is impossible.

But yeah, sometimes the 3D version isn't that easy to do in real
See the ebony armor…

Ah I see.
Seeing the helmet being worn does give the best impression. Personally I wouldn't remake it again,Β  plus we're all human and don't have the face of a feline as a Khajiit would.

The intimidating factor is definitely there, and I'd say it suits perfectly fine while getting the point across.Β  I fear making it smaller would also compromise the comfortable wearing factor.

I haven't played ESO, much prefering the singleplayer games, but it's a common practice to work like, since it cuts down on the face polygons not having to render. Plus stuff is usually blown out of proportions due to the field of view being smaller than our actual sight is. //But enough semi-useless technobable~

I found your ebony armour to be a great result, coming as close to the digital equivalent as I could possibly imagine it to be.

It actually makes me curious to see how you would proceed to tackle the Bonemold armour from Morrowind, which is rather organic in nature. Especially with the Gah-Julan helmet.

Hey, thanks

Will finish the armor and then check if everything fits together.

Hahahah, don't worry. I think I understand what you wanted to say.

Glad you like the armor.
It' was my goel to get it as close as possible to the original armor design.
It wasn't that easy but it paid off.

Bonemould armor. Since Morrowind and all the previous TESΒ  lack of details,
I find it quite hard to build replicas out of it.
Always when I checked out some weapons from Oblivion or Morrowind I realized how bad the graphics were.

Looking forward to seeing the completely result~

I do indeed think that you're close to their design that was displayed upon the screenshots I found of it,

I wouldn't proceed to call them 'bad' by any stretch of the imagination, but I prefer 'not up to par regarding today's quality'. But I understand what you mean by the lack of detail, most like you'd have to think of most of the design yourself and merely take the models as a rough base.

I guess sometimes I just get lost in the nostalgia for the game, disregarding the onlook you have upon it.

Yeah, "old graphics" if you want
It's not that easy to re-invent the whole design of a weapon, only because there's so much lack of details/graphics.
So of course an artist prefers the most detailed versions.
But the Skyrim weapons and armor aren't that bad.

I don't think the helmet is too big... well, from this angle anyway. As long as it fits your head, then I think it's fine (Unless it was me that was making the armor, in which it never will since I have a huge head.)

Relative to the rest of the armor, the headpiece looks in proportion. Keep up the hard work, I can't wait to see it finished!

It fits my head indeed, but could be a little tighter I guess
I have a small head, I already asked a few friends to try the ebony helmet and it was too small for them.

Thanks, hope it'll still look good when the whole armor is done!

It's pretty much common knowledge that Khajiits are well-loved in the Skyrim fanbase, soΒ in that case it's good that you're getting other people to try it. Doesn't stop them from asking to borrow the completed armor when it's done! xD
