NOTE: This app is a /remake/ of my previously existing character , not a build off of him. There are major differences in the history and sizeable ones in the personality, so I'd appreciate it if you'd treat this Cyril as more of a new character and less of an addendum
.: General :. Name: Cyril Solus
Pokemon: Duskull (#355)
Birthday: 23 / 04
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Pansexual
Level: 53
Ability: Levitate
Faction: Frou *BOSS*
.: Pokemon Stats :. Moves: Protect || Shadow Sneak || Charge Beam || Pain Split
Cyril, due to his lack of current attacking prowess, is more of a sneaky battler, relying on dodging and underhanded tactics to win over brute force. But don't let those Charge Beam boosts rack up, though–coupled with Cyril's previous experience with the electric typing, natural agility, and pretty good defenses, it makes him a fearsome threat. Years of living on the streets have taught Cyril to be quiet, sneaky, and precise in everything he does, including battle; often times you won't even notice him close in on you with a Shadow Sneak before it's too late. Pain Split takes advantage of all of the pain Cyril is bound to be receiving thanks to his easily-damaged figure, inducing pain on his foe and healing himself in the process, allowing for more longevity in battle.
.Battle Stats. || Attack
|| Defense
|| Sp. Attack
|| Sp. Defense
|| Speed
Thanks to his past life as a Heliolisk, Cyril has slightly better Speed and Special Attack than average. His small stature also helps. However his thin build is a bit of a double edged sword, as while Duskulls have fairly good defenses, not having much on you save for skin and bones makes you more susceptible to hits, along with being less capable of hitting back yourself.
.: PokeHuman Stats :. Occupation: Part-Time Employee at Tropius Smoothie || Frou Boss || Freelance Computer Coder
Town of Residence: Lumiose City
.Appearance. The first thing that strikes you when you look at Cyril is his height. As if his rather youthful face and thin build wasn't enough, the boy is quite short, giving him the appearance of one much younger than he actually is (not that he's particularly old anyway). He's gotten some slight muscle from his self-defense training, but it's still not much nor is it very apparent on his wiry build. He has ghostly pale skin that's actually quite nice, save for large freckle-esque spots on his cheeks and shoulders. Short, wavy platinum hair frames a rather attractive face and falls to cover Cyril's left eye. As much as it looks styled, Cyril honestly can't control his hair to save his life, and it's basically the style that's on him when he wakes up. Cyril's eyes are a deep grey, however they have a certain eerie red glow to them under certain lighting. Cyril also has a plethora of piercings on both of his ears and black nail polish on underneath his gloves.
Cyril generally tends to wear nicely-fitting clothes, for no real reason in particular other than that's what makes him the most comfortable (and those generally tend to look the best). He seems to have an issue with dressing with the times, either dressing in sleek modern–which is really just another way of saying slightly futuristic–or with a style that seems to have come straight out of the 1940s. Cyril's dittech is around his neck, and the clothes he wears are generally light enough for him to operate it underneath them, or it's just hidden behind a scarf. Cyril is often seen wearing scarves, and is always seen wearing some sort of gloves. He'll never take off more than one at a time, and only for a brief moment to show someone something concerning his hands.
As a pokemon, Cyril isn't all that different from the average, albeit a bit smaller. Considering the fact that Cyril was not only short as a Heliolisk, but is also somewhat of a runt as a Duskull, he's probably not going to get any taller should he evolve.
Height: 5'2''
.: Personals :. .Personality.
Cyril is a rather hard fellow to really get a grip of. After his death, his emotions have started to show some, as opposed to the cold, impassive shield he donned pre-death. However, that doesn't mean he's an easy book to read, in fact it's quite the opposite; Cyril tries quite hard to hide his true feelings, and with the red herrings of annoyance or ego, it's been quite effective. Cyril generally wears either a look of absolute boredom or a shit-eating smirk, and with the exception of shades of irritation, there's really nothing else visible on him. He likes to put on airs, acting like he's better than you, and, coupled with default viewing of others as no more than tools, he comes off as a real ass. This is all completely, 100% fake, though. In truth, Cyril has absolutely no self-esteem or self-confidence and actually doubts himself quite a bit (though he doesn't realize the latter), however he's managed to convince even himself of his little lie. As self-absorbed as he acts, Cyril is actually rather observant, noticing little differences in the behaviours of others that most may not notice. He doesn't generally call these out, though, as he knows how to respect personal boundaries, being someone who has a lot of dirt he'd like to hide, himself.
Cyril, when he's not being a little prick, is a rather serious and focused person. He has less tolerance for pointless antics than you'd think and absolutely hates distractions alongside the feeling of not doing anything productive. While he has his own childish moments, acting childish with him will only earn you a glare or a scowl. Cyril's personality tends to operate on two spectrums: the quiet, borderline silent, uncaring side and the impish, cocky side that only really arose after death (however was partly influenced by time spent as an admin of Frou).
As much as he seems and acts like he couldn't care less about, well, everything, Cyril's actually one big worrywart. While he's good at not looking it, a lot of things stress Cyril out. He also has nasty abandonment issues and will become quite clingy once he grows attached to you, which is a lot easier to have happen than you'd think. Cyril's not a bad person at heart, though; he does genuinely care about the well-being of others and dislikes being mean when he doesn't have to (that is to say, he doesn't feel you deserve it). He's also rather considerate, although that only really shows more when he likes you (as opposed to neutral or negative feelings). Cyril is also quite polite and formal, however that is more for shows as a result of his rank in Frou (and then carried out in everyday life on habit).
After dying, Cyril developed some "ghostly" impulses. While it doesn't have much power over him, there are times when he gets urges for mischief that he simply cannot suppress. His acts of mischief needed to quell the urges can be quite small and harmless, and mostly very stupid, yet all are met with uncontrollable, somewhat out-of-character cackling from the boy–a presumed character tic gained through his ghost typing. Should he try and ignore this urge, Cyril will eventually find himself being pulled to fulfill these acts anyway via some subconscious force. These acts will get less and less harmless and more and more violent the more Cyril tries to contain said urges, so he quickly learned that he needed to act upon them as soon as possible.
Alongside these impulses comes something a tad more..severe. As if the boy wasn't lost before, reanimation only made it worse. His aforementioned self-esteem issues couple with his lack of knowledge and certainty about his death to make for a very self-doubting boy. Cyril doesn't know why he was "chosen" to come alive again, or even if he was "chosen", however his false ego plays it off as his own importance to the world, and so Cyril may hypocritically flaunt his reanimation, despite being made extremely uncomfortable by the topic of his death. As a result of both this and the unspoken "cost" of reanimation, Cyril isn't completely connected with his body, or his mind for that matter. This manifests itself in strange little "lapses", which are almost like a sort of sleepwalking state, becoming completely unresponsive as lethargically walks around he doing god-knows-what. Cyril, despite being speculated to be incapable of higher thought when in this state (as evidenced by his lack of attempts of any sort of communication and heavily delayed response to stimuli), gains an extreme capability for violence–the only time he seems truly responsive during them. These lapses never last very long, though, and Cyril retains no memory of an actions he made during them, implying that he isn't conscious at all during them.
.History. If asked, Cyril will tell you he was born into Frou and inherited it–a pokehuman his whole life. While a ridiculous story once you take a moment to realize the dittech is fairly new and Frou is even newer, the story tends to satisfy most who ask (and those it doesn't satisfy are met with a "none of your business" and insistence on its verity). Of course, it's a total lie, weaved to cover up Cyril's own regrets and insecurities.
Cyril was born an alley pokemon, condemned to live on the streets of Lumiose scrounging around for what food he could manage to find alongside the many Espurrs and others. Cyril never met his father; presumably he had left his mother before Cyril was even born, however Cyril never knew for sure as he never wanted to ask. Instead, he and his mother lived a happy life, as happy as you can get on the streets, at least, complete with survival skills and lessons in self-reliance and living on perpetual starvation. It continued on like this for a good chunk of Cyril's life, until one day his mother was captured.
There was nothing they could really do about it; she had been jumped on in an alleyway as Cyril, barely conscious as a result of a battle he wasn't ready for, was forced to watch his mother become encapsulated in a little ball by a strange-looking woman dressed in an orange suit, complete with orange hair and glasses. Regardless of whether or not it was preventable, Cyril was left alone. Thankfully, alley pokemon were quite self-sufficient, however that couldn't save Cyril from being substantially worse-off than when he was with his mother, on the brink of death, until he met a certain Purrloin.
The two had gotten into an argument over a scrap of food, and while the Purrloin had won it, he decided to split it with Cyril anyway, feeling bad for the poor Helioptile who looked like he was about to collapse at any moment. From then on, the two formed a sort of friendly partnership, doing better for themselves together than they did individually, even to the point where they could afford to steal things other than food. Street pokemon were infamous for collecting things of value, and one was generally respected more the bigger collection of "valuables" (the value of objects ranging from pokemon to pokemon) you had, which implied prowess at stealing and experience, both of which were desirable traits if you wanted to survive. Claude, the Purrloin, quite liked shiny, metallic objects, and would always keep an eye out for them when he wasn't hunting for food. Cyril would just assist Claude with his collection, and since it was a partnership, both took credit for it.
One day, Claude spotted a human getting frustrated with a shiny, metal object he hadn't seen before. There were many shiny, metal objects he hadn't seen before, so naturally he wanted it. The human was angrily asking if the device was broken and what the fuck it even did anyway, before finally throwing it away, only to have Claude swipe it and scamper back to Cyril to show him. Though, this device was a rather special one indeed–through pure accident Cyril, upon inspecting the device, activated it, and much to his (and Claude's) surprise, became a human. He and Claude had always envied the humans and the luxurious lives they led, so this was the perfect opportunity! Cyril and Claude took full advantage of this new device and, after getting used to the whole "being a human" thing, set up a sort of trade shop, trading off some of their collection for better items for their collection, taking turns with using the device in the process.
Turns out, there were other pokemon who had the strange device too! The boys accidentally witnessed a Dragonair transform into a beautiful human one day and, naturally, approached her. The Dragonair, who introduced herself as Arabelle, coincidentally was someone who dedicated her life to helping the poor, homeless, and orphan "pokehumans" as they were called, like Cyril and Claude, manage in the world. Arabelle then started to visit the boys, bringing for them food and sometimes stories when they felt like listening. Cyril became quite enchanted with the girl and developed a nasty case of puppy love for the girl, however an age gap made her somewhat oblivious to his feelings, passing them more off as a cute little kid being cute and not a suave romantic like Cyril envisioned himself.
Life was good for Cyril again, however nothing was allowed to stay good apparently, as, by pure chance, when Cyril was managing the trade shack, he met his mother. It wasn't immediate recognition or anything; Cyril had just captured a random woman's attention with his expensive-looking jewelry. Yet this woman...she had the scent of his mother. And her eyes kind of reminded him of his mother's too...Wait....it couldn't be.....
Turns out the woman had the same reaction, and, upon the mutual recognition of her son, was overjoyed, or as overjoyed as a woman hardened by her life experiences could be, and demanded her son return with her to "headquarters". And while she was at it, she'd get him a better "dittech" too, whatever that was. Cyril, wrapped up in the excitement of reuniting with his mother again, happily agreed. He scurried off to say goodbye to Arabelle first–she was the dominant thing in his mind, after all, but only to witness her making out with some other man. Cyril had already been both weary and jealous of this man; he often hung around Arabelle and seemed close with her, as they'd often talk and laugh and she'd look at him with those eyes, but how dare he just steal her like that! And how dare she allow herself to be stolen! Cyril thought they had something special, and, in his still immature mind, he was genuinely convinced he and Arabelle were an item, despite the facts practically screaming otherwise. But so hurt was he that he rushed back to his mother without even saying goodbye to neither Arabelle nor Claude, along with running of with their shared dittech. He didn't care though–rather, he didn't think about it; he was too enraptured in his hissy fit.
And so, Cyril was taken back to Frou headquarters and was thrust into the brunt of the pokehuman world, where everything was completely different than what he was used to, serving as a painful reminder to the fact that he had just left behind everything. Cyril felt alone and scared and had no emotional support anymore–he and his mother had always had a more practical relationship than anything. And so, Cyril retreated into an emotional shell, allowing himself to be molded by his mother into a "proper boy": polite, obedient, and never talking out of turn.
Turns out, Cyril's mother was rather high-ranking inside of the Frou organization, being one of the original members and all. And so, Cyril became acquainted with not only the other high-ranking members of Frou, but Felicia, the current head of Frou at the time, herself, who took a certain liking to the boy, eventually spending more time with Cyril than he did with his own mother. Cyril was like a little pet to her, carrying out her every whim with that sad, cute little look on his face. And with such accuracy too! Felicia soon started entrusting the boy with bigger and bigger tasks, to the point where started having the privileges and responsibilities of some of the higher-ranked members, but without the official title. Truly, he was Felicia's little puppet, and Felicia grew quite fond of the boy, but in a rather superficial manner. And so, it was no surprise that when Felicia finally decided to step down, feeling like Frou would do better with someone else in direct leadership, she chose Cyril to take her place, along with some other boy named Kindle, though merely because "they matched". (However, later, the boy was fired, as he was considered too much of a detriment to Frou's success)
As much as Cyril never really wanted the position, or any position for that matter, he still took upon him the responsibilities the best he could, going a little delusional with the power in the process.
That is, until one day, he died.
On January 7th, gunshots were allegedly heard around the area of where Cyril's apartment was. A few days later, Cyril woke up not as a Heliolisk, but as a Duskull! It took some getting used to, as dying and then coming back to life probably would, but Cyril came back with more motivation than ever, happily accepting his title as Frou Boss once more. While Cyril still doesn't know how he died, he's almost positive it was a murder, and fairly convinced it was some sort of assassination attempt.
.Relationships. Kindle: Cyril's fellow Frou Boss. Cyril doesn't approve of his partner's antics, however he's forced himself to develop some patience for them, accepting them as a part of Kindle. Even so, Cyril harbors mostly negative feelings towards the Drowzee, only worrying about him out of a strange loyalty.
Tucker: For whatever reason, Cyril seriously dislikes the Kabu Boss, viewing him as untrustworthy and an all-around awful man, even when Cyril is guilty of his own accusations. He has a bit of a one-sided rivalry with Tucker.
Eloise: As Cyril's only friend, Cyril is quite fond of Eloise. While he has no romantic feelings for her currently, he's the most devoted to her over everyone else and is highly protective of her.
Lindsey: Coworker of Cyril's at Tropius Smoothie. The two are friends, however Cyril doesn't label her as one. Lindsey is often getting Cyril into situations he'd rather not be in.
Claude: Cyril's childhood friend. Cyril and Claude had a very intimate friendship, and while Cyril didn't return them, he humoured Claude's feelings for him and went along with whatever Claude wanted to do. Cyril still feels guilty about abandoning Claude and as a result of both that and denial of his past, tries to forget about Claude altogether.
Arabelle: After showing repeated kindness to him and Claude, Cyril developed a crush on her. He still has feelings for her, however he completely rejects both them and her and would rather just forget about her (although he does a horrible job at it).
.Extras. » Cyril now takes lessons in self-defense, so as to prevent another "accident"
» For the first month or so after his reanimation, Cyril would accidentally phase through things at times
» Cyril can't levitate in his pokehuman forme, however he can travel along the shadows via the use of Shadow Sneak. It's less effective the sunnier it is, though
» Cyril absolutely loathes the cold, however after his death, his senses went mostly numb. He's still in touch with his senses, but just barely. His overreactions to the cold are more out of habit now than anything
» Cyril is actually perpetually chilly. For a while he insisted on wearing a heavy coat, but after realizing it did absolutely nothing to help his body temperature, he stopped
» Cyril's body is very cold to the touch. As a result, he dislikes touching living things, as their warmth is a painful reminder of the fact that he's dead
» Cyril is completely averse to the idea of a relationship, as he's afraid of getting hurt again (what a drama queen)
» Hypothetically, if he were to be in a relationship, he'd be very touchy, as that's all he's ever really had when it comes to relationships. To him, relationships are physical
» Cyril is a total germaphobe. You'd think he wouldn't be considering he lived on the streets for a good portion of his life, but that was all he knew at the time. It wasn't until he was exposed to a clean, Frou life that he realized how much he hated dirt
» Cyril loathes his freckles with a burning passion
» Don't call Cyril short. Or a kid. Don't
» Cyril's evolution (Helioptile->Heliolisk) wasn't anything spectacular; his mom had just given him a Sun Stone to evolve shortly after he arrived in Frou
» Post-death, Cyril has nasty night terrors. They don't happen all the time, but frequently enough to make him dislike sleeping. As a result, he often has slight bags under his eyes from a lack of sleep
» Cyril's night terrors depict Cyril dying, either showing a horrifyingly detailed murder or various gruesome deaths with exaggerated detail
» Cyril developed a knack for computers when he was still acting as Felicia's puppet. He started independently learning coding and hacking techniques and eventually made a small career for himself doing anonymous, computer-related jobs, ranging from designing a website to hacking onto one
» Cyril could easily live off of the Frou wealth, however he hates doing nothing, so he keeps his part-time job
» He also only uses the money he earned, never Frou money for personal things
» The longest lapse Cyril had lasted about 30 minutes, while the shortest only a mere minute
» Cyril's lapses become more frequent the less sleep Cyril has, much to Cyril's chagrin
» Some of those who have witnessed Cyril's lapses speculate that he's recreating his death, as he always seems to have some sort of destination or motive in mind, and has been found in some rather suicidal situations more than once during them. People are hesitant to use the lapses for clues, though, as they present a danger to both Cyril and the people around him

//casually uses an example from a totally unrelated group dghj [Damien from Amie-Academy || RP with the lovely Sombrasaurus ]
It was Damien's lucky day! Not really, but at least he had found an empty table. He scurried over to it and plopped himself onto the seats, silently claiming it as his, while he glared at people who approached it. He placed his lunchbox onto the table and unpacked the contents, picking and choosing what he was in the mood for from not very many options. Damien couldn't care less that he was hogging an entire table, while the lunchroom started to fill up, offering not many seating options to the other students just as eager to eat as he was.
