I can't express how happy I am right now. I'm all giggly and fanboying over the mere existence of this piece.

It's funny, we're alike in this regard: Sometimes things take me years to make as well, or years to get ready and start. Your feeling about honoring a promise is so, so relatable. While most people would let the things go, I, too, can't in most of the cases.
Your gesture deeply touches me, and I don't even know how to put that feeling into words.

The choice of textures is so nice, white looks truly beautiful on both of them. It goes so well with Kaidan's dark skin, but also with John's lighter complexion, I don't even know why; maybe because the gold is balancing it for Shepard to not look washed out.
You have a talent for a particular way of coposing and arranging pictures that have a storyline, even if that story only encompasses a few moments like here (and sometimes also months or a year like in the Virmire picture series). It's an aesthetically pleasing simplicity like in the first picture that's no more than two people looking at each other in awe and the background being blurred to emphasize how little the world matters and, in contrast, how much the person in front of them does.

As a big fan of flowers, I approve of the artistic choice to show white lilies in the second panel. However, it's also a bittersweet symbol and code for death. You mentioned that those two would get married only if Ashley didn't make it in that reality. Since she's nowhere to be seen in the background or elsewhere, I take that choice of flowers for proof that my theory is correct. The only explanation I have for their happiness is that many years have gone by and that the flowers are a symbol to honor their friend, fellow soldier and lover and try to be happy with each other at least because that's what she would have wanted.
The effect you used in XNALara post edit mode (slight blur) works beautifully with the golden parts, like they're getting married on a gorgeous summer evening on earth (maybe Vancouver). I'm not sure if I hadn't used golden rings to go with the embroidery on their uniforms, but silver works, too, because it's just a polished version of light grey/white, which can be found on their uniforms as well.
It's adorable how happy and sweet they look in the third panel and I bet the three images work on both websites, this one and tumblr. Something I've always admired about your work/style.
