I loved getting to do this at a convention.

I've worked with stunts with some of my colleagues before, we are currently working on a play where (pardon my language) one character beats the shit out of his enemy and we are using a staff made of rubber and plexiglass. That's what this looks like and it is possible to perform stunts and ACTUALLY HIT your opponent when using that, (hurts like hell but many theaters do it) I think they may be doing that but I can't tell.
Regardless it looks so badass!
