You can laugh at this one if you like, but I've always thought that there could be another side of Derpy... a sensitive, romantic side, despite her unusual eyes. This has been sort of rolled right over in the show proper, but back before there was even such a thing as a official Derpy Hooves appearances, when she often appeared with normal pupils, she always struck me as a very beautiful mare.
I had also noticed a number of pin up images of Ditzy/Derpy but these often seemed to play up the slight inappropriateness of the idea - making it into a joke. I wanted to draw an image where Derpy was beautiful and maybe even a little sensual, wall eyes and all. You can make of that what you like.

Although I may not be a furry/clopper, I do appreciate the art. Way too many people try to focus on sexuality of the characters while With Derpy you went towards a slightly innocent yet sensual side, along with a desire to be accepted. Well Done.

It's appealing because the artist has rendered a character who would not generally fall under the purview of adult artwork in just such a way as to match the curves and posture that one would instinctively expect to see in an entirely anthropic figure.
The rash assumption that others find such work appealing primarily or only for the character's animalistic traits is not justified in any but the most basic ways. Even an ounce of rationality and objective consideration explains the situation, rather than the assumption that an artist's entire (admittedly sizable) fanbase is zoophilic.

Regardless of mild alterations to make it look "anthropic", it's still a pony - this is true, no?
It differs from furries - which, mind you, I'm not into myself, but I find less concerning than those who masturbate to a cartoon horse - since the ponies aren't fully anthro in the sense that furries commonly are; they're still on all fours, they still had hooves, manes, etc. They're ponies, regardless of whether or not they're given a more defined vagina or shapely ass to seem more sexualized and vaguely humanistic. Defend it all you want, but the basic point is that it's an attempt at giving sex appeal to a pony.
That's my personal opinion. If you want to fap to a pony, then go for it, I don't care if that's what gets you or others off. But you can't expect others to think it's not the slightest bit odd or zoophilic.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but DA comment threads are meant to be complimentary or constructively critical towards the subject. That's not an analysis, it's an argument.
Let me simplify this: Following your apparent logic, a woman in a playboy bunny outfit is attractive because the observer wants to molest rabbits.
Or, the inverse, which I argue: the character is attractive because of the combination of well-drawn anthropomorphic (key root, anthrop-) and the cartoonish (more than distinctly equine) features which give her adorable and endearing qualities.
The people you're thinking of are off fapping to Nezumi. They are not currently among us, and your actively dismissive attitude is entirely unjustified.

"How do I love this? Let me count the muffins..." The show may never go into it, but this proves that there's a fantastic plot behind Derpy. The best part is that both of her eyes look entirely seductive towards the viewer even with the different directions.
Her body looks terrific, and I really love how beautifully you created depth with the fine textures. The way her foreleg flattens in back, above her hoof, threw me for a minute: I thought her left foreleg was next to the right, so I was wondering how she didn't fall over. Then again, she is a pegasus and especially a Derpy so, Much to Scotty's disbelief, the you can change the laws of physics.
