this happens everyday, unfortunately

every time the piggies hear a bag rustling or us open the fridge they automatically assume they're getting a carrot and will start screaming

poppy is the worse though - she'll start biting the metal bars. it drives me CRAZY

mine does that too =w= except all we have to do is open a fridge XD not even OUR fridge necessairily... we took him on vacation once, opened the hotel fridge, and he STILL screamed XD

lol i just have to walk into the kitchen now and they start going off i tried sneaking into the kitchen once, and when i turned to look at them they were staring at me like hawks, waiting for me to make a move towards the fridge lol.

We do the same thing!
I had two guinea pigs, Kooga and Kanja.
Kooga died a month ago. ;(
Both were males in the guinea pig.
Kanja (Kantji) now lives alone.
But, Kanja is happy! :')

Haha thats cute. My piggies don't care about carrots. Green beans on the other hand they can't get enough off. One of mine bites at the bars too if I'm not fast enough. xD;

heh heh, my Bongo does the same thing with the metal bars. Those bars are pretty worn out after 4 long years of being gnawed at. The paint is completely gone XD Piggies are so adorable when they get excited...

I wonder, do either Cookie or Poppy toss around whatever's holding their food? Bongo has one of those trays you hang on the wall or the cage, and he constanty tugs at it. It's really obnoxious, and I worry about his teeth sometimes. Just wondering, since Poppy and Bongo do the same thing with the bars

yes, they used to do that they used to have just a bowl of food, but then they started dumping it the second i added food to it. now i have an attached metal feeder (this guy right here: [link] ) and poppy doesn't mess with it anymore when she does get a little nippy with it, i immediately make a noise to stop her. so far, so good lol

I guess Bongo's too old to learn not to do that now XD I switched to a little bowl for a while because I was so worried about his teeth. But then he started tossing that around too. So I just put the tray in lower so that it sits on the floor. I think he just doesn't like craning his neck to get food.
