Wow, that looks awesome. The vivid sections look great contrasted against the black. The detail is great, too. How long have you been working with Apo3D? I tried it awhile ago, didn't get much. So I'm still with flat Apo.

Thank you! I'm glad you like my fractal! I'm happy with this one too. It's not too often that they turn out just as I like them to, but this one did. I've been working with 3D Apo for about 10 months now, and I've been making fractals (of any kind) for about 11 months. I use "flat" Apo a lot too. I don't find there to be very much difference, on the whole, when it comes to working with the two. Of course, the 3D settings aren't found in 2D Apo, but I don't use them very often anyway. There are also a fair number of scripts that only work in 2D or 3D Apo. What differences have you noticed?

Very Beautiful; What is Apo 3D?

I'm glad you like this! Thanks! There are several 3D versions of Apophysis: 2.06 3D Hack, 2.08 3D Hack, and 7x. The newest 2D version of Apophysis is 2.09. I've seen the difference between 2D and 3D Apophysis software summarized like this: "The 3D versions operate just like the 2D versions with differences in which plugins are included, a few changes in some functions and best of all, additional controls for the render camera which enable the designer to rotate the flame and move the camera for views not possible in 2D." (Quote is from [link] .) Clear as mud? I want to learn more about the 3D aspect myself!

You don't have 7X?

I do but I need 3D - Wait you said 7x was a 3D one?

Yes. If you open 7x and click on the "Adjustment" symbol at the top (just to the right of the "fx" symbol), you'll see the Adjustment window. There are 5 boxes here which you won't find in 2D versions of Apophysis: Depth Blur, Pitch, Yaw, Height, and Perspective. Try them out! I've played with them a bit, but I think I may not be using them to their full potential yet. I need to do some more reading.

I hate when I just run past stuff without ever trying it out.
I've never seen this setting, but if I did, I probably wouldn't have touched it.

Do you know how to change the number values? I'm so curious that I have to try everything out! I don't always understand what things are for right away, though.

The easiest way to change the numbers in the boxes is to click and drag over the words beside the boxes. See if you can figure out what I mean... Do people call you Cameron? Cam? If we're going to write a lot, I don't want to call you iKill! I'm Rosalinde.

Depends on what part of the settings you are referring to.
