Color (or grayscale) is the most variable part of an image, and it will make or break an image for sure. I have learned so much more about color these past 2 years, and how to affect changes to the image palette for adding drama and excitement to an image. Even a bad drawing can be "revived and recreated with the appropriate palette" and it can create a style. You can also affect the art positively by overlaying parts of an image with interesting filler patterns too.
