I always like these kinds of manips. And the frame looks awsome.

there was a phase on dA where lots of people were doing face-shots and having it all desaturated except for the eye/s. i so badly wanted to do one where the face was bright and colourful and lively, but the eye was grey, all reserved looking.
that thought just occurred to me whilst viewing this again.

If I did that it would be much closer to reality
My eyes are usually mostly grey

as long as the grey in the eyes was only because that's your natural colour, instead of having meaning behind it. because eyes are "the windows to the soul" supposedly, and you are one of the last people in existance who would have a grey soul.

Polaroids (the concept at least) are just so... earnest. Honest. I really like this shot. It's unimaginably somber (not morose, but somber; not sad, but resigned). Is that the natural color of your eye? Or did you edit it into a black-and-white portrait (the alternative being editing the color out of everything else in a color image).

I'm not a photographer, at least not a real one, so I've not much else to say but that. Kudos, mate, and +fav.

frail In reply to reido [2004-04-22 16:52:48 +0000 UTC]

It was desaturated after I used the color picker to find the eye color, then I used color to target to reapply. The final result has quite a bit more saturation than my real eyes, which are technically "grey," but it's the correct hue.

Thanks for the comment

the bend of your amor's bow and upper lip is just how i like to draw .. the smooth highlight of the lips contrasts nicely with your stubble. excellent work.

You have a very strong shape to your face, but the look in your eye shows that there is something (perhaps intense sorrow?) that is kept hidden under the surface. Excellent picture though. I love it.

i told you so.

i like the blue colour you've chosen, and the small two dimensional design at the bottom caught my eye, but not for long, which is perfect, you don't want people obsessing over things that should be short hangups.

you remind me of someone i went to high school with, that was five years ago so i don't remember his name, wouldn't really matter if it did cos you're two different people. just nice to think that i remember anything from those years.

that's a rather intense gaze...the eye color is magnetic, but the stare goes beyond superficial observation...
