~ Random facts ~
She'll often show up late for meetings, which her mother accepts as she always excuses it by having had to tend to the spiders.
She'll sometimes just get up and leave in the middle of a meeting if she finds the subject boring.
She'll sometimes show up on people's doorstep and know some deeply personal stuff about them, and claim that she only knows it because "the spiders told her"
It's rumored that the spiders themselves will protect her if she's ever attacked. No one has ever been able to confirm or deny this rumor since no one has ever survived attacking her.
She sometimes falls asleep in the Garden of Spiders, which only adds to the rumors of the spiders protecting her, seeing how they don't eat her while she sleeps, and how she apparently doesn't fear any assassination attempts from sleeping in such a public place.
She enjoys framing people for random shit just to watch the chaos that ensues.
She doesn't give two-shits about speaking her mind and insulting people, although she does hold her tongue when speaking to one of the High Priestesses or the queen.
~ Bio ~
Sera'lith had a fairly normal childhood for a Drowess, although there were only a few hundred Drow back then, and she did enjoy both some extra privilege and harsh expectations as her mother, Laenthria, was one of the 7 High Priestesses.
Laenthria had all of her daughters trained to care for the spiders, but Sera'lith had a natural talent for it and ended up getting taught by Laenthria herself.
As a teen, Sera'lith and her younger sister, Halix'ara, decided that they would kill her mother together and then split the House between the two of them afterwards (although they, ofc, both knew that neither of them was planning to share and was both preparing to kill each other after they had gotten rid of Laenthria.)
Sera'lith however realized that they would be unable to pull it off and instead decided to rat out her sister.
She made up some lies to cover up her own part in it and then told her mother.
This was the first time any of Laenthrias daughters had been trying to kill her, and as so she wanted to send a strong signal to her family about it.
Halix'ara was captured and hung up in the great hall where she was harshly tortured in front of the entire family. Sera'lith was called forth and was rewarded in front of her sisters crippled body by being granted the duty as 'Caretaker of the Holy Spiders'.
Halix'ara was tortured for a year before she was petrified and then put up as a statue in the houses front hall (later she was removed and Laenthria re-purposed her daughters body to be part of a highly decorative table.)
From then on Sera'lith spend nearly all her time in the Garden of Spiders.
At one point she was granted the title as Hostess of one of Laenthrias smaller houses, but she just appointed a Hostess of her own to care for the house in her stead as she didn't want to leave the spiders.
That Hostess rebelled against Sera'lith, fully intent on forcefully taking that house from her, but Sera'lith didn't care much and just gave it to her.
Sera'lith is rather odd for a Drowess as she isn't all that ambitious and is almost content in being able to dedicate all her time to the spiders.
She still dreams of her killing her mother, although it's not so much because she wants to usurp her role as Matron Mother, but more so because she hates how Laenthria always has the last say in what is best for the spiders, and is often one to bring the smaller, lethally sick spiders to her own private rooms to heal them, where Sera'lith can't follow and thus can't help.
She also naturally still wants to become a High Priestess to better serve the Goddess, although she doesn't work as actively towards that goal as many of her sisters does.
