Explored the concept of spider web iridescence a little more today. Took this one pretty much strictly for the bright colors this area had. You wouldn't think a tiny spider web strand could produce such a wide range of colors, but sure enough, it happens (you just need to look closely). Didn't really get any of the cool blue strands in this one, but there were some pretty vivid pinks. Obviously the spider web itself wasn't actually pink, but (I believe this is what caused it) light refracted through the tiny clear strands and gave off various colors. The "thin" portions of the web are where the web is in focus, and exhibited the most distinct colors. The "thick" parts of the web were out of focus, where those strange pink/green interference patterns (also known as Newton rings). Not sure how exactly that occurs in this situation, but it makes for a pretty damn interesting photo
