Description Canon 50D
Tamron 10-24mm wide angle

Got lucky with this shot one night when *Nebraskies and I went out to do star trails. I ended up not doing star trails. I was too fascinated with the milky way This is a 10mm frame, so that meteor on the left was much larger in person. Then of course the Milky Way in the middle over the house, and the moon on the right sinking into the light pollution. All in all, a pretty cool scene

If clouds and getting cold weren't a factor at star gazing here... I could stare at the stars all night. I LOVE this picture. Absolutely stunning!

Yeah, me too. Clouds, getting cold... and light pollution Thank you! It actually wasn't too cold this night. Think I was fine most of the time in jeans and a jacket.

god. is this just you in a field and being able to get this - what did you shoot at manually to get all of that light? it's clearly gorgeous with its purple haze!

We had to drive about 40 minutes out of town to get far enough away from the light pollution. I wish I could just go out in my backyard and see this I used the expandable 6400 ISO to pick up the light

Oh, that is an amazing shot. Great capture of the meteor and the milky way and the moon together. It's very clear for such a high ISO.

I used a program called Topaz DeNoise to remove the noise from it
