I can't help but think that this song fits Ace quite perfectly every time I hear it ;u;
As for this drawing....hmmm where to start...
Well, I'm pretty happy with it, I mean, Ace actually looks a bit like Ace, and I think I did Luffy quite well... One thing's for sure though, it's definitely not as good as I thought it would be.
A-Anyway, just in case it isn't really clear, like the title says, the two of them were torn apart from each other, more specifically burned apart, and Ace's side is burning away along with him, like his Vivre Card :')
This description is getting really long for nothing so I'm gonna stop here and go to bed - u -

Vision: I love the perspective you've given this. Ace's side burning away just like his life. Really evokes some emotions to rise. And oh, the tears that are falling down their precious faces.. it makes me want to cry too. I really think that Ace and Luffy look perfect.. and perfectly in character too even if no words are shared. As always, I'm in awe at the hands you draw. <3
Originality: This is very creative. I mean, even though it's pretty simple, I would've never been able to make something like this. Their emotions are showed clearly and I like that.
Technique: I say that you did a little too much on the background. I really love the brushes and things that you always use, but the background, I feel as if there are too many clouds and it doesn't really work well with the heartbreaking mood there. I also think that there are too many clouds, but eh, that's probably just me haha. XDD
Impact: Very impactful. Especially for somebody who has been watching One Piece and loves Ace and Luffy to the very bottom of their heart. (*COUGH ME COUGH*) I nearly cried when I saw this. It really is beautiful and deep.. Especially the way you did the burns on the 'vivre card' around them..
Overall, this is incredible. I was afraid that we weren't going to see much art from you for the next few weeks, but this made me happy.. and sad. It's complicated. You know, I read this critique when I woke up this morning (because checking my messages is always the first thing I do when I wake up in the morning XD) and it literally made my day.
There were things that bothered me in this drawing that made me rather disappointed in it, as if it was wasted effort, but I couldn't distinctly name those things, so I just kinda tossed it aside in my mind. But after reading you, it's like I see my drawing with a new perspective. You are absolutely right, the background is too ''full'', and it ruins the emphasis I was trying to make on the two brothers.
Although I'm aware of that now, I won't change it, because I'm just lazy like that - u - But I will pay more attention on making more fitting backgrounds in my next deviations! Although Ace was (I hate the fact that I have to use the past tense now ;n; ) an important character indeed, Luffy is the ultimate main character, so since it was either him or Ace, Ace was obviously the one to kick the bucket TT3TT
