Amazing work, extremely defined detail, perfect angling and lighting.
My favourite part about this piece is that the rose isn't perfect (the edges have browned from age and are slightly ripples, the skin is dimpled here and there, etc.). I love that this is evident, and the message that I'm receiving from it is that there is nothing perfect on earth but there are some things that come close, and the only reason they aren't perfect is because they're on earth. I have no idea what the intended meaning is supposed to be, but this is what I gathered from it.
Now for the technicalities: originality was brilliant, quite suave and elegant. Obviously a picture of a rose is not all that unique in the idea itself, but the combination of lighting, position, colour, etc. makes this piece stand out: the photographer has taken a very common photo and differentiated it from the others of the same kind. Like I said, the imperfections on the flower complete the piece in such a finite way. The quality of the photo itself is outstanding (no blurs, everything neat, clean, and in focus, etc.) and the blurs that are there accentuate the photo nicely.
Overall a wonderful piece, thoroughly enjoyed, and I place the photographer in high regards.

I am a big fan of flowers that are past their best I feel they have a more photogenic quality, dont get me wrong I love the beauty of a perfect flower but the feeling I get of a faded glorious beauty hits me. This is a great image, here in England a cup of rosie lee is a cockney slang for a cup of tea so this image works for me on many levels
