A beaufitul portrait, very natural in fact.
The low saturation is quite a good idea because it gives more power to his eyes and his skin texture.

Am I losing my mind or is there a hint of color on this page? It looks like there's just a hint of blue in his hat and clothes and a touch of color in his face. Am I going crazy?

this is not completely b/w. In this one I've invented a new trick (ok, probably I did't invented it, but I never heard about it !!).
I've created a new layer with a high-contrast b/w conversion, then I overlayed to the colour one and then I've modulated the mixing on the two layers. I've obtained this strong washed effect. I've used this also on the old lady shot, but it's less noticeable.
