This was done with watercolor. It took a lot of sketching though.

Yeah, you have to go slow. 
Start out with water mixed with just a touch of color. 
And then you build up layers a little at a time, 
adding more color as you go.

I like classical Asian art. I like the simplicity of it. You don't have to draw every last detail. Sort of like a haiku.

Almost 70 now. It has slowed down. But it is now one of my top four or five pieces. Lol. I never know what's going to be popular.

Wow, 70 - and growing I'm sure! LOL   That is the truth! Some pieces of mine which I love get not much attention; others which I don't particularly care for become a hit.  It's a wonder! LOL

This one of yours however, makes me think of great work of the masters...particularly which become popular after their death, making tons of money.  It has that feel.   Keep it up, Frank. ^^
