Description Permanent work-in-progress of UW 26302, a partial skull of the small alligatorid, Allognathosuchus from the Paleocene Ferris Formation west of Seminoe Reservoir in south-central Wyoming. It's about 15 cm long or so and incomplete. I intended to finish this study many years ago, but got sidetracked somewhere along the way. Never finished it and now I keep it as a memento of days gone by when I had a whole bunch of competing draws in my life. I'm happier now and things are simpler but much more satisfying. As always, thanks for looking.

This is the first I've heard of this creature! It looks more terrestrially adapted than modern alligators.

It was as aquatic as modern gators, but it's short skull may have been better at crushing things like mussel shells, turtle shells, and snails. Not very big either it seems (usually not more than 2 m).

Very nice shading and lines!

As for the comment, I think all artists have a graveyard of unfinished works, but it stays around to remind us of what it means to complete.  Can't have the white without the black, so to speak.  Hope things are well!

Very true! Wouldn't it be great to have a museum of unfinished pieces?! All's great here. Hope you're having a great prelude to the holiday season/solstice.

That would be great, indeed!  Would put out a very powerful message.  Well wishes to you and yours!
