Thank you and thanks you also for sharing the poetry site. I have read the eternal sleep one, but it was a long time ago. It brought tears to my eyes.

I have heard of the plight of the spanish galgos. Hopefully they can work toward better conditions for those poor pups.

this drawing really hits you, to see such a faithful animal treated that way is just awful. I've seen some of the ways they get rid of spent greyhounds, cutting off their ears to remove racing identification then shooting, drowning or burning them. It's just vile.
It's things like this that make me ashamed to be human.
Well done on the pic, the more people that know about this sort of thing, the more chance there is of it being stopped!

Your right, there is just no excuse anyone can use to justify it. It's just a shame that we use them so cruelly and greedily in this day and age, this sort of animal abuse should have stopped years ago :/
anyway, Thats alright, well done on the pic ^^

This is completely heartbreaking. I own an ex-racer and the state she was in when we got her was disgusting, she was scared of her own shadow

Oh, that is so sad! Poor baby. I am glad she has you to rescue her. Has she come out of her shell a bit since you've had her?

This is very sad and touching. Dogs are creatures created by God too. They're not 'stuff' we can just throw away after we're done with them. We human are sometimes the worst creature to ever walk this planet.
Personal opinions aside, I think you did a wonderful job portraying the mistreated condition of the dog. Certainly has that sad feel to the picture. Keep up the good work.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment. "We humans are sometimes the worst creature..." I agree. Especially because we KNOW right from wrong, yet we insist on doing wrong.

I'm gonna put this in my shoutboard for a while.
I'm speechless. All I can say is that I love when artists bring important messages like that. We badly need 'em.

I really shouldn't have clicked on that video. Made me cry now.
I Love greyhound/ greyhound types so much, I hope to open my own kennels one day as shelter for those with no homes or have been mistreated or abandoned.
God help anyone that would harm a greyhound or any animal in front of me. xP

Yea I know. I've seen first hand what these people can do to animals. ((not just greyhounds but other breeds of dogs too)) I currently work in a dog kennels. =3
But yea, would be nice to start my own kennels or at least start a charity to begin with to lead up to opening my own kennels. ((Also want a graveyard/crem for people who can't afford to always pay to dispose of their pets, I've seen so many animals just dumped because the people don't know what to do with the bodies afterwards)). I want a little rainbow bridge going over a pond. =3 ((dunno if you've read the rainbow bridge poem but I want it based on that)) also I'd be dedicating the charity to my first Dog I re homed. ((who is now deceased)).
<.<; ... Sorry I'll stop typing now. xD I write to much. xP

Wow, the graveyard idea is awesome and would be so helpful for a lot of people. I know when my guinea pig died, I called to have him cremated and it was $80!! Since I lived in an apt complex I had to drive 2 hrs with him to bury him at my parents' home.

Yea, I always thought it would be a good idea. My dog being put down made me really think of the grave yard idea. ((Though I've always wanted my own kennels)) Wow that's quite a bit for getting a guinea pig done. I think I paid £120 or something for my Lurcher to be done. I hated having to leave him to be cremated. I Think All the time I had him I had been away from him for like 3 days the entire time.

To me it doesn't matter how little it actually happens. Its the fact that it does happen.
I have no problems with horse and dog racing in itself, because I agree the animals love to run. What I do have a problem with is the lack of responsiblity of people for their animals' wellbeing. It is too easy to get lost in the sport and the money and forget about the animal. I understand there are many, many racing kennels which are very caring and kind to their dogs. But there are also some guys out there who are just into the money and that's where the abuse happens. One abused dog is one too many.
Not to mention the fact that even the "good guys" have to euthanize their slow dogs if they can't find a home to adopt the dog. What sport is worth 20,000 dogs' lives a year? If only racing were for fun and ribbons instead of money...it seems like the dollar bill complicates everything, doesn't it?

It's a shame how corrupt man has become. Animals have feelings too, but they cannot express it with words.
Great picture, it really expresses what man can do to poor animals.
It breaks my heart to see what people do to these poor living beings.

It's unspeakable how people don't see the truth behind the way greyhounds are mistreated. And then when we go to vote on banning it, those in favor of it use their misleading information and propaganda to sway us against it.

i hate people who do this, they should be put in jail for it, or have it done to them...but what does the law do, nothing but bans them from having animals for a month or so....it's out of order and is unfair.
