I had SOOOOO much fun colouring it though.

Ah I know what you're saying. I'm desperately trying myself to move away from makani style. It's kind of annoying actually. I'm not exactly sure what to do about it. I try different styles but it's hard to keep up, you know? You get into a style and then it's hard to change even though I really want to... 'mature' my style a bit more.

It's reeeeaaally gradual. I think everyone starts with a base style that appeals to them, and it sort of works from there. My affair with anime began with me drawing in a very Pokemon style, then influences from other manga and anime seeped in - Slayers, Evangelion, Sorcerer Hunters... and then artists online as well.
You sort of mix and match gradually. I still do very anime-like eyes - thick black outlines and the shape as well in a lot of aspects. I just like them that way. And I still have very manga-like proportions because I like elongated, long-limbed bodies. And ridiculous hair styles. 8D
So yeah, I have Makani elements to my art too - where I've tried to improve drawing faces and expressions mainly - but I'm still developing. By the time you're my age you'll... ... Probably be a lot better than I am now, actually. XD

Yeah but you see your style is still completely individual. Even if you do have various elements from various artists styles. Mine just... isn't. lol
I've found out about =Endling and ~Isaia who really inspire me too. I've been trying out that kind of stuff and I really like it.

Yeah, it's... it's a long road. You're still a young'un. I wish I'd been as good as you at that age, because even if my style wasn't my own I'd have had better foundations earlier.
