After their first day of leaving the jungle and reaching near the border to the forest. Damian when he was perfectly alone took his mask off when Ace wasn’t around. Of course Yaotl, Alexia, and Koga already recognized him without trouble, but were told by Adsila not to say a single word about it around Ace. Not even a small piece of wood or plaster could hide the truth about someone other than their face to some people. Even though Ace may seem the most dense of the bunch more than Koga, and he’s literally a caveman.

on their way to the vulpine tribe, Damian was unsure if Amira would show up hearing it from Adsila. Out of everyone he’d rather not be involved with other than Ace, is the one person he used and betrayed them just for his own personal gain. There’s no doubt that she’d be more useful than him since she is one of the last surviving members of the “League of Thieves”, including her and Ace. The two of them might even be better than him, but he’s more of a man of action than a sneak thief like those two are. But what’s really on his mind was the way he slowly developed feelings for her when they were hunting Ace down on Animus from the southern part of the continent. The one person he screwed over being in the same place doesn’t sound like something he wants to be around, especially when she’s most likely to recognize him and expose him to Ace and ruin everything, but right now he tries to think about something else instead of his personal feelings he has for someone else.

right now he was thinking about his twin sister Alice, who was more likely to be near this doomsday volcano since he knows that Alakay would be there after hearing it from Adsila. He was thinking about why he really was doing this after all, his demands were just something to be a cover up, but couldn’t make it look so simple and still had his own pride to show that he’s really doing this to go save the only family he has left in this world (or any other). He already lost everything from the crew, the ship, and the name and honor that the “Black Quasar Pirates” had across the galaxy after the death of their father. He had no home or anything but the life he now has as a prisoner kept in house arrest by the pantera tribe. This was something he couldn’t afford to lose in such a crisis situation, especially she’s the only family he has left in the galaxy that isn’t on earth.

And their last day on earth too there specifically months before Alice quit the crew to be off the grid, and the invasion on Animus that the crew made their last stand. He only remembered that he went in a blind drunken rage for both Alex and Ace. Alex because he was the one who he thought was responsible for killing their father, and Ace because of his lust for a slave that was stolen from him. He was so caught up on revenge that he almost forgotten and abandoned her, but worse of all his jealousy for her almost caused him to get her killed by an even worse person who was hell bound on revenge then he was. There’s no way he can repent for every sin or evil deed he has committed up until now, but he might as well do something right with the end of the world happening. He knows Hell will have no mercy for someone like him, and there was no chance of him entering heaven either. But he can at least have this one act to mean something to him even when he sees his father in the other side.
