My husband and I just saw "My Neighbor Totoro" by Miazake over the weekend and fell in love. I had to have a totoro for myself. It's silly really because the target audience is little kids, but the story is so fantastical it makes you want to be a kid again with big dreams and lots of play time. Everyone should see it!

For those of you who don't know what a "totoro" is, they are big, huge, furry, friendly, tree dwellers/woodland spirits that look kind of like a racoon mixed with an owl. They collect acorns and other types of nuts and sit in the tree tops playing little wooden flutes by moonlight. This big Totoro, the main one in the film, flies around on an air borne spinning top with an umbrella given to him by the little girls in the movie. There's also an awesome Cat-bus that picks him up and takes him wherever it is he goes.

Ahhh! Too much great stuff to talk about! Just watch it!
