Description
This was the birthday present i made for about a week ago! It was a really really fun piece to paint!!! For a long while now I have wanted to paint a stained glass window and finally I had the chance!!!

In total, this probably took around 15 hours. And even then I was really rushing a the end. If not for the time limit (i was late to the party) i would have done more on the background and foreground and my original plan was to have Nightcrawler teleporting onto the window ledge. Unfortunately, i was pressed for time and so there are no "teleport poofs" in the pic. Though, in my opinion, the result is still fantastic!!!

My only criticism for it is that the background is so extravagant that it seems to take away from Nightcrawler. I went back over the window glass with a wash of acrylic white paint to make the window look more opaque but i didn't have time for a much-needed second coat. Again though, it's not too bad.

It's watercolor paper; the background is a wash of red and black watercolor that had salt dumped on it for a few hours (the salt is brushed away and leaves a texture behind); the actual painting part is all acrylic and the black spaces in between the window glass is ink.

Oh yes... the German in the window reads: (blue) prayer; (purple) faith; (red) love; and down where the stone ledge is: "Listen to the rhythm of your heart".
