“Tsuneo.”

“Tsuneo!”

“TSUNEO!!”

Tsuneo slowly opened his eyes, and he found himself lying on the battlefield. Thankfully most of the fighting had moved on, closer to the village, leaving him amongst the corpses…speaking of which…was he alive? Had he heard his name being called out…or had it been a dream? He wasn’t sure…at least not until a blurry pink and blue figure solidified into Urara, running towards him.

“Urara-chan…?” he mumbled.

“Tsuneo-kun, yeah it’s me, here, sit up, the fight’s not won yet and we need you!” She said attempting to prop him up.

“What about Jun?” he asked, his voice raspy.

“Jun’s fine, he’s recovering with the medics and, knowing him, will probably be out fighting before they get any chance to actually heal him,” she said. “So I came back for you.”

“It’s not safe,” he argued, remembering his fight with the cloaked nin.

“Do you think I became a kunoichi to live a safe life?” she asked stubbornly making him groan as she force-fed him a soldier pill.

“Woah! Hey now, that’s better,” he said with a startled jolt as he felt his chakra reserves building back up.

“Careful!” she said as he attempted to stagger to his feet, nearly falling in the process.

“I’m good…” he said shaking her off, and he felt it, as he watched the battle rage on he knew he had to help stop it. “Come on then Urara-chan, if you won’t go back all that’s left is forward.”

“Heh, right,” she replied with a sharp nod, and together they sprinted off into the fray.

Tsuneo was nearly knocked off his feet as a cloaked nin appeared from the right, but Urara swooped in and threw a water ninjutsu at him, pushing him back. Tsuneo took the opportunity to jump back in and deliver a swift series of kicks and punches to the attacker before Urara swept in and delivered a killing blow to the nin with a kunai to the neck.

Panting slightly, the duo nodded thanks to one another, and watched as the nin’s body dissipated into ash before them.

“Woah…guess I missed him doing that last time,” Tsuneo said in surprise.

“It must be to prevent us from gaining any information from his body…” Urara explained evenly.

Then, a massive cloud of smoke appeared in the air above the village wall, drawing the attention of everyone not locked in battle, and even those who were. The walls were covered in Shikaku Seiei and cheers of victory arose from the Torogakure genin and chuunin who had so diligently been defending their homes.

The sky was full of Torogakure’s finest warriors as they dove down into battle, ensuring victory against the cloaked enemies.

“Woah…the Shikaku Seiei in full force,” Urara said in quiet awe.

“Yeah, those are some badass shinobi right there,” Tsuneo added with a grin. “You want to be one of them someday don’t you Urara-chan?”

“Mhm…well I think so, it’d be pretty cool,” she replied.

They watched as the Shikaku Seiei fell down into battle and felled the cloaked nin efficiently and without remorse. The sky turned to ash and the ground ran deep red with blood. All the while Tsuneo and Urara looked on. The battle didn’t last much longer, and with Tsuneo still mostly out of commission they weren’t up to fighting strength. Then in one quick instant the battle was over…not because the entire enemy was slain, but rather because they were suddenly gone. Those who had been losing their battles turned to ash instantly, and the rest fled.

“We won!” Tsuneo cried out jumping into the air with a whoop, before cringing at the sudden movement.

“But…how…they all just ran away…” Urara mused, her brows knitted together. “This doesn’t feel right…” she said quietly.

“Then why did they leave…” Tsuneo asked soberly.
