my friend M bought a new jacket in a nice pastel-blue color.I laughed "why it's not olive green? it's not very skinhead of you!"
"because I'm a pastel skinhead" he said.
ofc he's not a skinhead, neither regular or pastel one. but he's bald and wears that hat.. so yeah.

Skinhead is a Subculture that originated in London during the 60s, mainly comprised of young, working-class people. I guess the closest thing to compare it to would be Punk crossed with Mod.

Unfortunately, like with many things, Nazis took this otherwise innocuous thing and made it synonymous with the most vile aspects of humanity. I guess like with all communities, there are those negative few who give the whole thing a bad name, it's just that in this case those negative few are quite literally Nazis.

i'm not the artist so i don't know the full intentions behind the drawing, but i think she refers to skinhead as the original subculture, which was completely apolitical instead of having today's neo-nazi connotation.

of course not. would plaid pants and studded jacked make me a punk? it's just the look. same here - most skins in Poland are bald, wears 'that hat' (flat cap - thanks for the name!) and harrington jackets. so yeah, we just make a laught from my friend's appearance that he's a pastel skinhead now.

I have no friggin' idea where in Poland skinheads look like this. In my area skinhead looks like skinhead, usually "that angry, dumb, drunken bastard" way.
