Dusters are based on one of my fursona's forms, and pipers are inspired by worm on a string, weazel ball, etc. Please note the color changing examples on the striped pipers here are pretty subtle, I imagine some individuals can completely change colors and/or markings when they flare up so feel free to go wild with that.

These are a minor sipperworld speciesEtherheim is brimming with all sorts of unique creatures, many of which can be created for free under certain conditions (as a semi-open species). These minor sipperworld species (or MSS for short) play a supportive role for the playable races , in a way that is comparative to pets or companions.

Lore/InformationPotion sippers constantly shed small amounts of used-up magic particles in the form of dust, which like any type of dust can accumulate in a home. Luckily, most sipper homes have their own small colony of dusterpuffs! Although a bit mammalian-like at a glance, these are actually a type of insect capable of flying around with tiny wings (which are often mistaken for ears). Their plush, furred bodies naturally attract magic dust and get absorbed into the body, making them effective home cleaners and self-feeding pets! They have small mustaches that are often mistaken as a mouth, though the true mouth underneath actually looks and functions more like a snail's, and is capable of polishing away the most stubborn dust from surfaces. Dusterpuffs range in size from a quarter to a football, and their fur comes in patterns and colors similar to what you'd see on small earthen mammals (rabbits, hamsters, etc). Breeding different varieties of sizes/colors is a common hobby.

Not all is peaceful in the kingdom of dusterpuffs however, as there exists another group of critters who also seek the sweet, dusty ambrosia: striped pipers! Named for their musical vocalizations and commonly striped bodies, pipers strongly imprint on the first place they find with an abundant food source and will always return to it, even after forced attempts to relocate them. They're normally found in flower beds where they feed off of nectar and pollen, but unfortunately can sometimes wind up in a sipper's home and feed on the dust there. They'd probably be just as well-liked as dusterpuffs if it weren't for their tendency towards aggression, they will defend their territory at all costs. They flare their fur into vibrant threat displays at the first sight of any perceived intruders, and they're quick to lunge and sting if the foe doesn't retreat immediately after.

It's kind of endearing to see them furiously pouncing towards, wiggling on, and poking at inanimate objects and much larger creatures who aren't affected by their attacks in the slightest. Still, they can be irritating for the average sipper since a sting from the pointy nose can be mildly painful, and their presence also distresses the local dusterpuff colony. However pipers do become quite docile and polite around others of their kind, and can be tricked into thinking your dusters are another piper if they're taught to travel in a line.
