My intentions were to redesign this personal softku as well, but I ended up just preferring the way they look already, so this is just a redraw of a previous picture I made for them. If you're curious, Puppet here is also displaying the 'pillow' form. I'm getting myself warmed up with drawing these guys so I can hopefully have a few adopts ready soon! If they're the quality shown here, they will probably be around $40-$50 I'm thinking? Anyways, I'll paste the species lore below for anyone who didn't get to see the previous one!

First and foremost, I want to be experimenting with the idea of having a closed species whose lore and appearance are highly interpretive, to encourage freedom and creativity with using them, which I feel like people would have a lot of fun with. I feel like I will have a lot of fun with this too, since I have multiple ideas for this species including ones that contradict each other, and making this species' information and lore canologically speculatory opens an opportunity to present all of those ideas without them invalidating each other. People will be allowed to pick out information that they prefer and also have the opportunity to build on those ideas for themselves.

I should also mention that softkus will have a handful of forms and features that I will be personally using to create designs with, but none will be exclusive/restricted or more expensive, since softkus can essentially shapeshift. Rather, the prices of their designs will depend on the amount of time I put into making individual designs, and/or the quality of the designs themselves (an idea I got from al-kem-y !) MYOs, if they do happen in the future, will likely just have a set price regardless of the form or features you choose to use.

Below, I will list the handful of constants for softku lore, and later I will share a few of my own theories for you guys to play with. Again, you are free to add your own thoughts, theories, observations, and developments to the softku lore in the form of headcanons, I would love a community that shares their ideas and builds from one another for the softku species, if they end up having a community.

There are only a few constants in softku lore, they are the following:
What are they?
- Softku are interdimensional beings capable of projecting themselves into other dimensions.

What are they capable of?
- They have the ability to alter how the projection of themselves is perceived. This includes manipulating how others perceive the softku's appearance, smell, sound, texture, temperature, and tangibility (if objects phase through them or not). Although a softku can take on any form they choose, there is a group of forms known as 'True Softku' forms that they use by default. It is unknown if they do so to conserve energy, out of preference, or simply out of laziness on the softku's part. ((I will be introducing these forms in the future! They include pillow (shown in the image above), blanket, and scarf forms))

- You can't permanently or significantly hurt a softku, since you are only technically able to interact with the projection of it. Any damage to a softku's projection is reversed by the softku phasing it out and back into our dimension. If you were to cut open a softku's projection, you would find that it is a solid mass (imagine cutting into memory foam with fur on it).

- They can interact physically in our dimension, but they don't appear to follow the same laws of physics (example, a softku could pick up something extremely heavy in a way that makes the object seem weightless). However they don't do so very often aside from touching those who they are bonded too. It is unknown if they restrain themselves because they know that it would unnerve us, if they are actually only capable of doing so on occasion, or if they simply just don't have much desire to interact physically often.

What are their intentions?
- The intentions of softku kind is largely unknown, but we do know that it involves the dreams of intelligent creatures. We aren't sure if softku are the true cause of dreaming via transporting our consciousness to other dimensions, or if they simply come into the proximity of sleeping individuals and somehow absorb energy from it. Whatever the case, they appear to gain sustenance from these dreams, and will 'starve' and fade away without them.

Other observations?
- Softku appear to be largely benevolent, but not very social with each other in our dimension. Interactions between softku can happen between individuals who's bonded humans (or other intelligent creature) make contact, but only very rarely even then do they acknowledge each other. Perhaps softku don't feel the need to interact in our dimension, because they already interact plenty in their own.

- Every softku has a special object, most commonly a bell of some sort but might also be a wind chime or similar object that makes sound when jiggled. The object can't be damaged or removed by anyone but the softku itself, or other softkus. The object must have some sort of role in a softku's ability to absorb dream energy, since damage to it can make a softku corrupt, and complete removal will quickly lead to starvation.

- Corrupt softku are ones whose special object has been damaged, and they exhibit massive amounts of distress. The most obvious sign that a softku has become corrupted is the difficulty it has with maintaining it's form, which is constantly shifting and moving in ways foreign to our dimension. These individuals mercilessly steal and hoard other softku's special objects, leaving them to die, although it doesn't appear that doing so actually helps the corrupted softku's condition.

- When a softku first manifests in a dimension, it always takes on a small plushie/baby-like form (whether or not it is truly an infant, or if it is simply low on energy from travelling to another dimension is unclear) They are unable to alter their appearance until they gather enough energy, which can take months or years depending on the individual. These softku always manifest close to a child from an intelligent race (such as a human child) as they are an easy source of dreams. Like a cuckoo chick, they push other plushies away so that the child lavishes them with all it's attention, which is quite endearing.

- The aforementioned softku and child will oftentimes form a strong symbiotic bond into adulthood. In fact, these pairings are the only instances where softku choose to fully reveal themselves to us, and are the sole source of information that we know so far about them. It is unclear if there are other softkus out there that simply prefer to remain invisible, for all we know they might not even exist. Perhaps they are even the source of supposed ghost encounters or other paranormal experiences.
